Visual Comparisons for my Camaro cousins COMPLETED

First off, I am by no means a Camaro guy. I own an 83 TA and love firebirds, but many of you have asked about factory appearance packages, like the one I put together for all the 3rd gen TA's. So after sorting through almost all 463 Reader's Rides photos I have compiled what I believe is an accurate representation of the Camaro differences. If I am wrong, just tell me and I'll fix it. Just note. I by no means try to represent which year/models had black headlight buckets, or which base models could have had spoilers, or striping differences, or decal placement. There are just too many combinations and I do have a life. Combine the photos with the text in "TECH DATA" section and you should find the info you have always wanted.

To actually read what I wrote on the pics, you should "right click" the image. Click "save picture as", and save it on a directory of your choice (remember where you save it)on your hard drive. This way you can use an image viewer (i.e. PSD, MS paint, Kodak Image, Real Player, Quicktime)of your choice to enlarge the comparisons and have them for future study.

Enjoy.....

The wording isn't very clear...

I have an 82 Z28 and that's accurate to me!
Also, I have always preferred the 82-84 Z28 tail lights instead of the grid ones, does anyone else agree?

Everything looks pretty good.

One thing to note is that the berlinettas had a a gold line in between the top and bottom of the tail lights instead of just the black bar.

Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Hey Gib I agree. People will call me crazy but I also like my 83 TA tail lights better than later year TA lights. Maybe us 82-84 guys have nostalgic feelings about the birth years of the third gens. Who knows.

Looks very nice.I would sure like to be able to read what you wrote under the cars.I have a Webtv system and I am unable to save,paste,paint,download,etc.. I guess you could call Webtv just a box with a modem inside of it Maybe one of these days I can get me a "real computer" and quit spending money on my cars, come to think of it..NOT!!!!.Is there anyway you could maybe label the pics as 1.2.3.4.etc and repost with the like numbers and place what you wrote under the cars out beside the numbers.Appreciate it very much.

Hey Brent, has anyone ever told you that there is no such thing as an '89 Z28? Is it an IROC perhaps?

WOW!..people responding to my sig I'll tell you a little about my 5 car situation. My 91 Firebird is pretty much my daily driver, few mods here and there. As far as my 97 Grand-Am,my wife drives it(but its still mine )My Sonoma is currently being driven by my brother until he can afford a third gen of his own.Goin this weekend to pick up my 89 RS in NY that originally my friend bought off of eBay,but he backed out of it and I bought it instead. Now for the 89Z,Oh my goodness.Note the under construction description.I am still working on this ride and have been for about 2 years now.It has Z28 badges all over the car.I noticed that at one time it had IROCZ on the doors but I haven't got to replacing them yet.Still trying to back track all the paper work on this one.I did have a computer at one time, but ended up selling it awhile back.Maybe one of these days I'll get my Dad to build me one and start placing pics of my cars on here and mods that have been done or mods in progress.

The Berlinetta's have clear parking light and the Sports coupes have yellow parking lights.

Also, The park lights on a Berlineta & sports Coupe are intercahngeable between the models - but will NOT fit any Z28 or IROC car.

Last - In 82 & 83 the berlinetta tail-lights were separated by 2 Gold bars & in 84-86 there was only a single gold separator bar.

Also, I think some of the earlier (82-84) Sport Coupes could have the rear "lip" spoiler. At least, my 84 did. Everything else looks pretty good to me.

Ya, some of the older SC and such could have a lip spoiler. Mine didn't however. I like that first pic, it looks almost exactly like my 82 when I first bought it(the wheels are the only difference).
I prefer the non-grid early tail lights as well.
