Wiper motor polishing

I just took my wiper motor out and it is dreadful, I would like to polish it, but I am not familiar with the electronics and electrical stuff inside, essentially is this a user serviceable part, can I put it back together later.

And How does one get all the muck, grease dirt and other cfraps off these kinds of parts

I guess this applies to all parts in general alternator, power sterring....

Thanks

Paul

Re: Wiper motor polishing

Not quite sure what you are asking but I'll try. The alternator case can come apart easily, use and impact to get the pulley off and its like three screws to sepereate the case. Power steering is a metal housing unless you have a march aluminum pump, inwhich case it is already polished. You can get the chrome covers or the chrome power steering pumps. They look just as good painted and kept clean though. I thought the wiper motor was plastic or a stamped steel case...Nothing to do there but paint them or clean them and use armor all.
