WOW! 10 mins polish on rims!

Polished up the rims.. Didn't get a chance to polish them for a couple months due to the weather. Only spent about 10 mins per wheel.

I found you can go a lot further than that with the mothers billet polish and the small round ball they sell. Yes the billet polish is a smaller container and double the price, but it does a much much better job of bringing out the shine on rims.

Perhaps I've used most of all the common polishes out there.. I didn't think Billet was all that great in my usage. I use and absolutely SWEAR-BY AutoSol with or without the Mothers CONE.

Heheh.. Any pics? Yeah the SNOW is likely (well the SALT) is what likely turned the polished rims a whitish color..

You should definitely do a write-up on your polishing process....Those look sweet, and no matter how much I polish my Welds, they never look that good...Awesome Job----

THANK YOU.
they do look good.(Bright Chrome looking) but it's alot of work. every thing turns black from all the buffing. you have to buff and keep enof polish going on the wheel. not letting it dry out. taking time to let it dry before wiping down with a clean towle.and buffing 2 or 3 more times. i use med size. white terry cloth towles. has they get black from the alum. i switch to a clean towle. (about 4 to 6 towles ea wheel)
no worrys the black washes right out hot water and tide. (do not wash with anything) just the towles!
and pads.

this is done with a 6" angl buffer. and a few diff buffing wheels
lambs wool will do the best job of cutting. always use the a larger size pad on your wheel. 6" wheel needs a 8" pad. keeps the pad edg from slipping off. when your doing the cant feel my arm any more cramp thing!

my buffing table is 4'8" tall. it keeps the wheels about chest high.this stops the back killing Pain.. ea wheel has its set of pads. 2 to 3 pads ea wheel. always stopping wiping. checking the outcome.

lighting is the hard thing to use when buffing. if it looks hazzy. it is..should Look like bright chrome plate when done right. not to bright of lights.. open sunlight is Fantastic.

always wash your pads when done also. working the Tide into the pads by hand and running under hot water before dropping into the washer. spin. then air dry. box up till nexed time.

dont forget the back side of the wheel. make sure to use a good brush and keep them clean and free from junk/dust/you know.
