Turtle Wax Black Box kit

I just finished up using it a few hours ago on my GTA. I've seen mixed reviews but figured I'd try it. I am so impressed by the results. My car had some bad swirl marks from some cheap microfiber cloths I had once used. This made my car look better than anything I could imagine. No swirls and glossy as all hell. With the addition of some tire shine, I've got the best looking car around. For anyone with a black car, I'd highly reccomend this. The number one thing is to take your time!

Pics and a video will be up in an hour or so.

Re: Turtle Wax Black Box kit

I was very undecided about it too, but I said the hell with it and tried. lol. It does an amazing job at giving an almost wet shine and hiding small imperfections. Pics on the way

The video which is uploading does a better job at showing what's up, these pics were only taken with my phones 5MP camera whereas the video is 720p HD

Re: Turtle Wax Black Box kit

I just watched an application video on Youtube to see what that stuff is about. It looks like it does a nice job, but it doesn't do anything to correct the paint and remove the oxidation, scratches and contaminants. I think when the products wear off after a few months (or weeks depending on the weather) you may be right back where you started.
Black is tough to keep looking good, but if you have crap in the paint and scratches, you may need to put a machine on it. I picked up a Flex polisher, and that machine works great to correct paint issues.

Re: Turtle Wax Black Box kit

Yea I failed to mention that my car's paint was in really good shape prior to doing this. So I essentially just made my car even more glossy. The car was clayed only a few months back so it was already really smooth. So if you've got a car in good shape or better this will make it look prestine and hide swirls and light scatches. If your car's paint is in rough shape, you're only maksing the problems and they will come back. But for what this costs, you really can't go wrong. The one I got came with a clay, which I did not use, a prep spray, a wax, and a finishing wax type spray. You will need ALOT of microfiber rags to do this

It looks great - can't wait till mines painted and looking like that again. Right now she's sitting with her interior out and getting disassembled for paint.

The nude stage! Must be scary. lol. But it's usually always worth it in the end. Good luck with your car!

Re: Turtle Wax Black Box kit

Yeah - it is a bit scary. I am trying to be organized. I have every screw bagged and marked where it goes. I took pictures of the stuff that I figured might be an issue when I reassemble it(months from now?) I know I am going to wind up with extra hardware anyway.
