Opinion needed
I have been out of the IROC-Z seen since 2009 and have the itch for another one. I really miss my 90 350 Z. I have the chance to trade my 2004 seadoo for a 1990 IROC-Z 305 tpi 5spd car. It has some nice options, but would like you guys to give me some input. Sorry I can't get any of the out side. It's as clean as the inside with some paint fading and needs new tires. It has a documented 88K on the car.

Re: Opinion needed
I wouldn't do it, but that's because I already own an IROC. Don't think I'd want another 3rd gen.
You'll have to throw some pictures of this Seadoo up here to get my true opinion. I like PWC's and small boats. But otherwise I'd just vote yes.

I'm not a boat person, so to me this is a no brainer

Re: Opinion needed
Well I drove the car it's pretty tight with new struts and shocks, cheap ones though. Sway bar bushings are shot but new ones in car. It has some clear coat issues and the tach is off, but real clean for 88k. I'm happy so far. Thanks for all the input.

Re: Opinion needed
Trade it. You can have fun with the car all year. The boat only in the summertime really.

Take the Iroc! How often do you use the boat?
I sold my Iroc 15 years ago, would buy it back in a heart beat!
I would love to find another really nice one.
How much is he asking for it if you keep the boat?

LOL, Good point! I live 11 miles from one of AZ's most popular (But boring!) lakes, where we can go boating 9 months out of the year, and I still got rid of my boats. Just like my F-bodies more!
Besides, no one ever saw me putting gas in it and said "What year is your sleek-craft?" LOL

Seadoos are too dang noisy!!! Get the Z, then save up for a sailboat and you'll have the best of fast and fun and the best of slow and relax!!!!
Boats are like children, they should be seen but not heard!
Camaro's are like hyperactive children, you'll hear them before you see them, fun to watch when they're in sight, then you'll hear them for awhile after they're out of sight!!!

Re: Opinion needed
I say trade. The only thing that concerns me is the comment about passing a visual inspection with the airbag. I also live in CA (Sonoma County) and I know how strict they are about SMOG. I have a "89" so I'm unfamiliar with a inspection concerning a air-bag. When would a inspection like that take place?

Re: Opinion needed
Not sure how the whole inspection would take place, but I believe 1990 and up F-bodies were legally required to have a drivers side airbag in them. I guess whether or not you'd get in trouble about it depends where and who's looking at it.
As for the trade, I'd definitely do it. 1990 is the rarest year of the IROC, and being a 5 speed, TPI car makes it all the better.

Re: Opinion needed
Depending on what state you are in the airbag issue may or may not be a big deal. In AZ, it's no big deal. All you would have to do is get an airbag wheel from a J/Y and install it for a day, for inspection. They have no way to know if it's functional...
