91/92 16 inch Wheels...Can the center caps be polished?

Car: 91 Formula, 79 Trans Am, 72 LeMans
Engine: 305 TPI, 6.6, 350 Pontiac
Transmission: T5, 3 speed, TH350
91/92 16 inch Wheels...Can the center caps be polished?
I just finished polishing the rims, now the center caps look a little off. Can these be polished to match or am I stuck with it the way it is?

I painted my wheels black, I didnt do anything with the center caps so it kinda had a copo look to it. But i recently just painted my center capts to match, I just did the outside circle of the caps black and then left the inner chrome part alone. I think it looks really good but i need to finish doin some touch up work on em first.
