Hey everyone I'm just wondering if Antibes has used Zaino polishing products and how'd it turn out? I'm thinking on buying their kit but I'm not sure yet. What's your take?

Zaino was all the rage for awhile. A search will probably net you hundreds of mentions.

I used Zaino for awhile, but I'm currently happy with Meguiars.

Requires some intitial prep, but they work great.

I like the fact that you can layer them to fill swirl marks, rather than continously needing to polish the paint to remove them.
Kind of a big deal if you have black cars.


But you can get good results with lots of products if you know how to use them properly.

Having had my own detailing business for over 20 years and dealing with Cadillac owners and such I can tell you that almost ANY top name line will do as long as you PREP the finish and have the right tools such as the proper polishing machine, several foam pads with different cutting material and know how to handle everything. A really good job will take you between 6-8 hours and you need to know how different compounds (such as 1800-1500-2000) girts work. Then there are the polishing materials and finally the hand wax for the final touch. Also know that most waxes ONLY last about 3-4 months depending on weather and if it is garaged or not. LOL

If you apply enough coats it will last a long time, as long as you use the zaino wash.

No polish machine needed use the clay bar after a bath with Dawn dishwashing soap.

You really want to polish the swirls out instead of just filling them in. If you polish and use microfiber towels, along with correct washing techniques. You will not need to be continously polishing the paint.

Well I thought on the zaino website they say they don't recommend using microfiber towels, because they have yet to confirm which ones work and which ones don't and that they don't want ppl to risk messing it up with s bad microfiber towel. They say use a white 100% cotton towel that says made in America, because the ones that aren't will have contaminates and plastic in it. As you wash your vehicle the polish wears off, just like with every other wax/polish out there, so puttin on more polish wild be neccary

dawn will eat anything you put on your car and your clear if it's not factory... very harsh stuff hope your adding only a very little amount of dish soap as that's not wise.

Oh, I've been polishing my black IROC for 20 years.






But swirls can happen continuously, for any number of reasons on a black car - even just driving it. Instead of having to polish them out every time I clean/detail, Zaino helps fill them. There's only so much clearcoat on there to polish.

Zaino sells two different MF towels now. I haven't tried them though.

Dawn is only used initially to strip any old wax before you start the Zaino process.

I guess it depends on how much the car is driven. But even for a daily driver, if it is washed and wiped down correctly, you should not have to constantly buff swirls out.

I buffed mine about 3 years ago. With proper washing techniques and microfiber towels, I still have no swirls.

I've tried some early MF towels, but found them to not be as gentle as my 100% cotton terry cloth towels - and even those can mar the surface if I'm not careful. Maybe it's time I tried a more current MF towel.
