I'M SICK OF GOIN' BACK and FORTH
I've looked through thousands (im not kidding) of posts on rims, and my mind can't decide. I've narrowed it down to a few. BTW my car is outa the body shop this friday so ill give you guys some pics. '89 IROC bright red (8U1 i believe). ALL RIMS WILL BE 17" and i DO NOT want to run spacers!
The Nice IROC Replicas ($1200 with tires)
Eagle Alloy Torq Thrust's ($189 a piece not including tires) EDIT: found a 3rd gen quick
Centerline daggers (pricey but i have the money) around $350, anyplace cheaper then summit?
What Are these?!?!?
ROH Snypers
I really need your input guys. A nice shiny iroc needs better rims then the 15s that are curb rashed and tiny.

This is a friend of mine's car. He's running 17's and 18's on it. Car looks really nice. Of course, the awesome paint job helps a bit

I personally think the chrome IROCs are a no-brainer.

To tell you the truth i was sold on them...until i saw all these other 5 spokes that look killer too. Only problem is Custom Wheels Market that i was going to buy them from currently doesn't list any 17" irocs . I need to call them tomarrow!

Can I vote for none of the above? If I had to choose I would probably say to go with the IROCs but I really don't like them in chrome. (I think they look cheap.) Painting the accents helps a little because that way they're not "all chrome" but they would look a lot better in polished aluminum.

These are just emblems with adhiesive so i'd stick em' on the chrome centercap.

I prefer the Iroc ones too...
I've always liked the 5 star, thicker in middle / thinner going out better than the opposed design...
If you don't want the whole thing chromed, maybe some polishing & powder coat would look nice too... I had my Turbo Cast wheels polished & clear powdercoated...
I would prefer polished aluminum over chrome too...

Re: I'M SICK OF GOIN' BACK and FORTH
I had my old 15" rims polished and the accents repainted to use as winter wheels. Aside from being too small they really look good on the car. So, every time I see the chrome Iroc wheels I almost love them...Just missing some detail to look right. You might be on the right track with the center cap decals.
I remember seeing a pic in a Year One catalogue of a Camaro with Corvette C5 wheels (I think) - 5 spoke silver aluminum (not polished) with the spokes tapering to quite thin at the rim - looked great!
My business is keeping cars on the road longer so I wound up with 17" Torque Thrust lls on mine (for a more Old School look) and they attract alot of positive attention (they aren't as common around here as in some places). I love them, but if I had to do it again I would put 18" on the rear though.

I once posted a thread about how I cant find a rim nicer then the original IROC's. And I still feel our cars just look better with stocks, especially chrome or polished!!!

Good News Guys!! I called Custom Wheels Market today, and they said the irocs will be available in a couple weeks for around $1,100. I forgot to ask if they could put a 255/45/17 tire on the rears though . I think i've got my decision!
So anyways...does anyone know what rims those are on the forth pic black IROC?

I believe the wheels on the black car are CCW's (not sure though). I just found some wheels similar to those. I'll post pics when I get them on (don't what everyone running to buy them and get them on before me ).

Check out this site, it will help you make your decision. http://badassiroc.com
(j/k seriously you'll be back to the drawing board)
Roh's... done to death
TTII's - done to death and resurrected
If you can afford better rims exceeding a grand, get something a lil more unique. Why not go for the "New" honey comb rims that year one has for their "new " bandit firebird. Those are hot and expensive.

Re: I'M SICK OF GOIN' BACK and FORTH
Honestly, a nice set of tires helps in the decision, dirty, bubbly tires make nice wheels look kind of lame. LPT's (Low Profile Tires) and radials almost make any wheel look better.
If I had to choose and only between these 5, I'd go with the replica's, possibly in an 18" though all around, 17's seem small on our cars, but all depends on tire selection too and it is your car so...

Get the stock rims refinished. Classy, authentic, and the best look for the car IMO.

I wanna get bigger rims (i have 15's), and the stockers compared to these other 17's look like...well small and i need something different that stands out with a total car makeover. I stuck some money into this car and the 15" double lines are not cutting it looks wise to me.

I do like the replicas ALOT. Rick at Custom wheels market said they're cast overseas. Think the quality could be lower due to the world economy BS?

Re: I'M SICK OF GOIN' BACK and FORTH
Ever since my company (Im a laser engraver for PS awards), found that one of our members bought a solid resign piece which was made in china, and had a customer come back with it broke. The crazy part was when it was broke and you could see the inside guts, it was filled with ROCKS...making this NOT a solid resin piece but a rock stuffed POS.
P.S. Whats that website you can go to to look at all camaro's (3rd gens) with wheels.

I purchased my 17 Chrome IROCs from Rick at Custom wheel market and I run 255/45/17's all the way around with a stock GM black centercap. Here is a pic with black accents on the front wheel and all chrome on the back. They are made in China but I have had no problems with them and bought my last May.

Re: I'M SICK OF GOIN' BACK and FORTH
I would like an american wheel for an american car.
And you see what GM did with their money that Americans gave them ... screwed the taxpayers. At least the foreign companies are keeping their American employees.
Sorry, this is off topic, but it is a sore spot with me. I have always bought from an American car company (actually all but 1 of the cars I have ever owned has been GM) but I just don't think it's relevant as to where your wheels are manufactured. If you like 'em you like 'em.
As I am posting this, there is a banner add for a 2009 Hyundai Azera at the bottom of the page. What's up with that? A little off on their target marketing, I'd say! LOL.

Any other day of the week, i'd scoff at the 18 inch chrome IROC wheels, and I may have in the course of this thread... however, yesterday I went to car show at a local eatery, and saw the creation of the ower of yearwood customs in El Paso Tx. First off the man loves his thirdgen, let me just state that among the cool things on it is that he has made is stinger hood functional, and looks like he has C5 rotors and calipers on the front. Its relevance to this thread was the rims. He has the 18 in chrome IROCs, however he painted both the internal lines across the spokes, and the pie shaped area between the spokes. It looked sick. I have no pics, but know where to find the guy so im just going to try to catch the guy for an interview and photo session.

Hey, personally i like the first three images of the Camaros. The first image with the iroc replicas makes the car look bigger and meaner. The second and third image are different and nice which would makes the car more unique.
And please can someone tell me where you guys are finding such good and cheap rims i am in canada and its hard to find good rims at good prices.I am looking for Iroc Replica Wheels and every where i go they want close to $1800. Anyhelp ?

WOW guess I never updated this post. Sorry about the pic quality, this was taken when I got the car out of our shed after winter. I'm still entertaining the idea of buying another set of rims, maybe black with a polished lip and some C5 binders?

Not the size you are requesting, but the style may help... These are Intro V-rod 5 rims, 20" rear and 18" front (they are what I run on my 57' chevy, just put them on my Camaro for a show this weekend).
