Noah, 100% agree! Your car looks awesome and the tires are a perfect match IMHO.

It looks like I will soon be getting a new set of white-letter tires as part of my wheel upgrade (click on link to drool):

eBay Motors: 1987 - 1992 CAMARO Z28 FACTORY ORIGINAL WHEEL RIMS 15" (item 200043951773 end time Nov-07-06 08:57:18 PST)

(BTW GratiotWheel rocks, here's a shameless plug for them!)

I'm torn though. I looked at the buyer-survey results up on tirerack.com, to try and choose some new tires. The BFG Radial T/A's are about the same price as a competitive tire also there from Yokohama. But they surveys have much better performance results for the Yoko's. I'm squemish about having 'Yokohama' on my Camaro's sidewalls but they seem to perform better according to actual buyers. What to do? Anyone here have an opinion? TIA

Couldn't see the rims, auction ended.
Yokohama are good (never used BFG's) but I don't think the name is THAT important imo. I'm still riding on the cheap Dayton's that came on the car hehe.

thanks. My wife was razzing me about the tires I got. The car had 245's on it when I bought it (two of them legally bald). I debated a long time about what size to get. Finally I decided to try and keep the car looking semi-original but a little more aggressive than the regular stock size, so I got 235's. Wifey was shocked since this is the first time I've ever put SMALLER tires on a car

Hmm.. I'm REALLY digging the look on my 92. Here's a couple quick photoshops of stockers/white walls in both my current color red, and black for fun. I love the look of my 18" wheels, but HATE the ride quality. I'm looking for a set of stockers locally to try out. Thoughts?

That's why I didn't want to go bigger than 17s! After I get tires and spacers and get the Rebels on my car, I'm thinking about stripping, polishing and repainting the stockers for fun.

My truck doesn't even have white lettering... I'd be embarassed if it did and the feeling would be worse if I was in a F-body...

OMG you guys!! i have a great story for you! The other night at work a blue POS rally sport camaro came to the shop for tires. it had the 2.8L with oil leaks everywhere...there was NO rust under the car though! probably due to all the oil leaks. It had the 15 inch RS wheels (225/60/15 or something like that). The shop sold her 4 Firehawk Indy 500 tires. I got to mount them lol! the manager said "ok mount these tires blackwall out" (thinking white letters only look good on trucks) and i was like "are u sure, it would look so badass with the white letters out" (totally thinking about this thread on TGO the whole time). so the manager was like ok whatever. i mounted them so the H in Firehawk lined up with the top spoke of the wheel (like if u stand the wheel up so it looks kinda like a star, FIREHAWK would be centered at the top and INDY 500 on the bottom) All i have to say is WOW....it looked great! it totally changed the look of the car and gave it a more racy apperance. i was like "I have to post this on TGO!!"

so theres my story haha. too bad i didnt have a camera. now i know for sure white letters look king on these cars

Re: White Walls/Lettering

True, nothing looks as good as the Radial T/As IMO. All the other ones are written in gaudy capital letters that scream at you.

I really wanted white letter tires for my Camaro, but found out it was nearly impossible to find a set for a 16in rim. Oh well, but hey your guys' look great.

I only like it on the Falken tires because the font is thicker and closer together.

White letters look good on 15's, not on anythign higher IMO.

But theres always someone to come along and prove you wrong...
