It all depends. If we go from a stop I am faster, when we went from a 55-60 mph roll the other day we were even. He has an edelbrock carb and intake, coated headers, flowmaster american thunder 2-1/2" dual exhaust with no cats, and a rebuilt 350. We don't know what it has for a cam but it sounds like it has a little lope, however we don't know if that is just the exhaust. I have a stock 170,000 mile L98 with edelbrock headers, a custom 2-1/2" dual cat y-pipe and a banks catback, 1.52 pro magnum roller rockers, along with some free mods like a gutted air box and high flow filters. I have an edelbrock base, runners, and a ported plenum waiting to go on that will hopefully help with my top end a little and I really need a shift kit to eliminate my 1 to 2 second shift into 3rd. His car pulls really well especially for a 79, but we are both trying to make them faster .

Man, my cousin had a 79 just like that one...

He babied that thing, rarely ever drove it.... Left it parked outside in the yard one night and some asshat driving drunk flew off the road and plowed into it.

Completely totaled it in a way you would never think possible.... The guy was driving a big truck and the 79 went airborne and landed upside down.... no joke.

sad....

He never got another camaro after that, he ended up getting a dodge stealth twin turbo.

The wheels are 17" centerline matrix 5-spokes.
