A Quick Question

Well it's too late now, but I just need a little input. I bought my 1989 IROC Convertible about 6 months ago and the guy I purchased it from had 20" Boyd Smoothies on it. He knocked off 3 grand without the Smoothies and I decided to buy it with the stock 16's. My question is, would it have been worth it to pay the extra $3,000 for the Boyds with rubber?

P.S. I would attach a pic but it won't let me for some reason.

I would really like to see the picture..........looked kinda getto thinkin about it but those rims should have a nice deep dish and probably looked ok on the car.

EDIT: Also 3g's for those rims and tire if they were both in mint shape would have been a good price. I haven't checked the prices on the 20" smoothies but I went 3100 for my 18" boyds with rubber.

In my opinion, it looked pretty sick with the 20's. I still can't post the pic though cuz it's an invalid file. Don't know if it's possible to change the pic into a jpg file.

I sure would like to see those pics, but I think I would have done the same as you and saved the 3000 for other goodies, even if it might be a decent price for those wheels. Just my

I agree and would like to add that 20s aka "wagon wheels" only look good if the car doesn't loose it's ride hight, if it didn't then maybe the looked good but still seems like to much

They look ok but I would def take the money you would save and buy a nicer set as those just look alittle outta place. IMO

Cool man, thanks for posting those for me. Yeah, I suppose they do look a little outta place. Well, I guess I've got an extra 3 grand and a world of ideas. Thanks for the input guys.

I think it looks pretty good with the 20s. However, I would have done the same thing you did and took the 16s and 3000. You can get a decent set of 17-18" wheels with rubber for under 2000 and think of how much those wheels must weigh. Not to mention I would be constantly paranoid about hitting a pothole or something and bending them.
