Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

I paid $9000 Canadian (saftied and certified) for this GTA in the spring of 2011
it had something like 59,xxxKMs which is something like 35k miles
unmolested, not one spot of rust on the body panels, floors, etc.
one repaint
some cool things it came with...
-were a keychain from the original pontiac dealership who sold it
-bobby brown and rod stewart tapes in the center console
-the original owners manuel with all of the information of the the original owner written in there
-plus there was a pair of vintage 80s black leather gloves (with the holes where the knuckles are and the fingers cut off) in the rear hatch locking compartment

the previous owner installed new tires and brakes
I'm the third owner
I had it appraised a week later for $13,000 so i'd say I made a fair purchase...

I did suffer from buyers regret months down the road just because I wasn't mentally prepared for all of the usual maintenance expenses and headaches that comes with buying something this old (I had only ever owned a brand new vehicle) I had all of the fluids changed, new valve cover seals, new water pump, I purchased the hawks spoiler, installed the subframe connectors, installed new exhaust, engine tune-up... some other minor things that a member helped me out with... but all of that is behind me now and I really can't wait to put it back on the road this coming spring and just drive it with class, take it to some shows and enjoy it.

plans for 2012 are...
the antenna rebuild
need to get the fiberglass spoiler painted and installed
upper door panels painted (there's some dings and dents above the door molding)
front bumper painted (since it got ruffed up a bit in storage)
get the front linsense plate "hide away" mount installed
could use a new driverside power mirror (someone smacked it off something and then just got some cheap fix... no power)
change o2 sensor
polish up the rear tail light
claybar everything else
figure out why the key doesn't unlock the rear hatch
needs new headlight motors
new shift plate (interior piece)...
oh and the front seats could use new leather upholstery and padding but I don't plan to tackle that this year...
and I would repaint the whole car but I store it one of those "tarp garages" eh so the the little touch ups will do for now until I get my own place with an actual garage...

everything else is quite satisfactory
it's such a boss car...

I appear to be one of the few LT's here....$3200 CAD with 134,000 kms on it, no rust, STILL no rust, and close to mint interior. spent most of its life tucked away in an older guy's garage

$1,900 for mine. Just needed some cleaning up and minor things. the pic on the left is the day I bought it and took it immediately to a car wash and washed maybe 3 inches of dirt and grime off of it lol and the middle and right pic are from this past week 8 months later.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

Bought my '82 for $1100 like 5ish years ago from the original owner. It has 86,000 miles on it and had sat in a garage for 10 years. It had turned into a mouse nest so i had to redo the entire interior, get new brakes and custom hoses (my dad makes custom brake and other lines if anyones interested), and had the entire engine tore down. Aside from some T-Top work i still need done the car is in amazing shape and in total i spent another $3500 or so to get it where it is. After i get done with college im hopeing i can get working on it again.

Now that is one interesting car!! So, you have firebird tailights and spoiler, 91/92 rear bumper, 4th gen z28 wheels, 4th gen interior, IROC front end, RS hood and 2nd gen camaro emblems on the sides. Ill give you credit for making it "your car". Definitely unique.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

I like this car ( https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...7-post663.html ) , has sort of a GrindHouse feel to it .damn didnt reply properly it's Slayerx666 's car .This is my car , I bought it for 700 $ 3 weeks before 9/11 . I cut wax it like crazy , repainted the nose and bumper with some cheap spray paint . I had it painted last summer and it's now black with a camelion clear coat so its red gold and green in the sun depending on the angle . I dont have a picture of the after paint job yet , waiting till spring to get a pic of it . Paint job was a labor trade .

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

Paid $1500 for it in October. Car was a decent 20 footer when purchased and runs really well.

Already purchased about $2000 in new parts (doing a mild restore, see link in sig) and have about another $3000 to put in it (including engine and tranny rebuild).

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

It's still evolving. It has IROC tail lights now (the GTA ones were delaminating and needed replacing), the Decepticon emblem is gone, the front has been lowered by 2" (had 5.7L convertible springs in it, swapped them for V6 springs, helped immensely and made the ride softer), polished the TPI to a mirror finish, and built custom 4th gen door panels with speakers in the lower front corners of the doors. The hood is going to be replaced with an 82-84 Z28 hood, not sure how to do the stripes with the cutouts yet. Also debating adding white hockey stripes to the sides. The wheels are being exchanged for Cragar Quick Tricks. Oh, and the fender and nose emblems are from a '68 Camaro, not a 2nd gen. I'm going to put the large rear panel "Z/28" from a 68 in place of the Chevy emblem and grey 3rd gen Z28 as soon as I get my hands on one. The license plate cutout is also going to be plastic welded in to look more professional, it's just riveted in for now. This summer is going to be paint...no idea on color for now, it looks good in the Brandywine with the white striping, but I'm up for suggestions...JUST NO ORANGE. It was tangerine when I bought it and it was H-O-R-R-I-D. I have my '88 IROC LB9 to work on also, so have to do things little by little when I can. Doesn't help that my wife uses my Z/28 daily as the babymobile either, and leaves me with my '88 MR2 as my daily driver.
