Or the other options are to locate another set of GTA lights and finish the body work on the back (the triangular panels would get fiberglassed into the rear fender), or build a new insert panel in place of the tail lights and put '67-'68 Camaro tail lights in it. Bottom line is I want my car somewhat unique, I'm not doing a restoration, so I'ld like some honest opinions on how each option would look.
I think you should put some lowering springs on that and put the Iroc taillights on it. I mean seriously, that thing is getting into the 4x4 Camaro range!! I rather liked the orange paint it made the car pop more, I think you should repaint it that orange color or something similar. Also I recommend putting Z-28 rims on it...

Oh that red Camaro was a project I was considering on picking up but I think the guy has moved away.

The photo gives the impression it's sitting high but it's only slightly over stock height. I have NO intention of putting any kind of lowering kit on my car, I live in south Texas where road work isn't ever in the budget. Since I don't want to be replacing my ground effects constantly, I'll stick with my current ride height. As for the orange, hell no. That color was god awful. It was tangerine orange, bright and obnoxious. Hugger orange I would consider, but it's too overdone on 3rd gens. As for the Z/28 rims, they won't fit the rear backspacing. I have a 4th gen rear and they would stick out 2" on either side. I do want to get some sort of replacement rims, but that's far down the line as the car still needs subframe connectors, a new exhaust system, roller rockers, a Megasquirt II daughter card upgrade, a wideband O2 sensor, a GM flex fuel sensor, and a few other odds n ends before any new cosmetic purchases come into play. The IROC-Z tail lights I already have, so it's budget - neutral.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

These are the two birds that i own. The grey one is a '90 that I got for the cost of pulling the motor for the previous owner. The green one is a '92 3.1L that I bought for $500. Not to bad of a deal but it had 170,000 on the clock but it still running strong and now I have over 213,000 on it. I was kinda surprised this car wasn't worse than it is cause most everything was still original (even the shocks).

Just picked this one up last week. It's a 1992 305/5spd hardtop rS, rust free Texas car with a clean title and only 111,000 miles. Only thing wrong with it other than the primer hood and roof is a bad head gasket. Got it for $800.00

wow idk why but i love it. something about the no ground effects, especially the front bumper, and the spoiler make it awesome. is that the hawks spoiler? it looks a bit bigger than the others

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

I overpaid at $2500, but it's exactly what I wanted. Black, hardtop, 350, rear disks, etc, and as a bonus, the hoosier that owned it before me must've let a Great Dane take a leak in the back seat 10 minutes before I picked it up.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

Payed 1000 for mine, didn't run, guy had a heavy a*s sub box in the back and it rubbed a wire to the fuel pump. Needless to say 50 cent butt connecter. Fire right up. only rust is on the driver's door and passenger fender. Crappy G.M. paint. runs like a stripped a*s ape. Gave the Subs and box to my Stepsis lol. Got a set of the '87 Iroc-Z 16x8 wheels for it. I think I put another grand in it. 700 was for tires, and the rest was like Grid Taillights, painted headlight buckets, shorty antenna.

First pic of her.

Next pay period, I'm either going to order Eibach springs or look for 91/92 front and side ground effects. Probably the springs. Wish the paint wasnt to crappy on the top of the car.

Nope, it's getting parted.

...totally kidding...

The head gasket is getting fixed next week then well fix the paint up a little and try to pull a few dents out, then either flip it for a big profit or my wife will keep it for her own.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

Paid $7000 for mine, and didnt know it needed a new cam, bigger injectors, bigger pump, and a few other things.. On a good note, it only has 32k origional, it was supercharged(but that was shot too, so I upgraded), 383 stroker. I have put $3900 into it and its still climbing in cost. I lost the battle on this buy, but after Im done I will have won the war. Plus I will never be selling it.
Corvette Turn signals,
prestine interior,
Tints,
Shaved Door Handles,
New Paint,
never seen snow(absolutly zero rust)

Looks good, with a sprayed hood and roof, that car would literally go for $5k in Minnesota if it's as clean as it looks in the pictures.

yeah it is pretty mint, actually it was a guy he wanted $4500 but i got him to go down to $4000 . the car was his uncle's he got old and wasn't interested in the car anymore so he put it in a garage for few years and then he decided to put it up for sale on craigslist. i actually was searching craigslist every day for six months and once i saw that car i jumped on it right away. and it was only 45 min drive from where i live.

so that's kind of the story behind my car

Here is my 88 Iroc that I paid $1500 for. Pictured is my friend Ken helping me clean the car up a bit at my friend Bills' house. His friend is who I bought the car from in South Florida.

The car had 105k original miles, had all its original body parts and wheels. The interior wasn't ripped, torn, no dash cracks or anything. AC is cold and still original coolant.

The headliner was rotted...There was a small rust hole in the roof in between the T-Tops and windshield that turned out to be even more holes. It had constant codes 33,34, and 36. PWR door locks, seat, hatch, mirrors, and horn all didn't work. The drivers side ground effect was cracked and the left front fender was bent from a tire blowout. Oh, and there was a huge coffee stain on the drivers side floor that Folex took out. The paint was and still is 5 different shade of dark red...

Most of those issues are long fixed and the car runs really well now. Still have more to do, though. I like to tell people its a drivable restoration.

Re: How much You paid and A picture of your Car...

Here is mine, it's an 87, vin code 8, bought a 91 5.7 out of a Z28 to put in it. Bought the body for $500, motor, tranny, exhaust, rear end, all accessories, 96 Camaro seats, dash pad, old school sound system a/d/s amp, Bazooka bass tube that looks like a nitros bottle, covered speaker covers in leather as will do with headliner, for about $1,200 more. Waiting on more parts to begin install. Completion date set for June 15th... wish me luck!

PO wanted $500.00 but couldn't find any keys. Dropped price to $350.00...I'll take it, thinking of Atoll Blue paint, Goldleaf bird on hood, hand striped in orange, then surrounded by yellow/red "real"flames, what do ya think of the concept???

The day I bought her home....

How much You paid and A picture of your Car...-imag0090-1.jpg

Bought her at the beginning of January w/ only 46,172 miles for $6500. All stock. Only thing I have done is add 5% tint one the rear window, 20% on the sides, and a 5% strip on the windshield... And, upgraded from the factory radio/stereo system to a cd player, replaced the dash and mid speakers w/ new ones, and added a speakerbox with two 12" subwoofers and an amp. Right now, I sit on exactly 50,007 miles.
