Man, I love my ride, what do you like about yours?

Nothing is like cruising in the sunshine with the T-tops down, girlfriend by your side and just enjoing it. Then a smack at the throttle and your off!

It holds just enough cargo for two persons to do a summer wecation. I skipped a regular boat, and got a inflatable instead which goes nicely in the trunk along with an onboard. I took out the cooler element from an electrical coolbox and built it into the left side compartment. So now I even get cold drinks!

It's got that cool look than many notice, have been getting compliment from school teachers, cops, even girls working at McDonalds. Cool sound, hushed interior.

My bird has been parked for the winther, but I started her today, and it was like being 14 again and seeing those musclecars for the first time. Oh, it's just great, I look forward to the summer.

I like that mine is different from any around the area....head turners are great and are plentiful, but what gets me goin is when you see guys with their gf's who stare with their jaws dropped....when they would usually be saying something like "psshhh Im so much better than him"

I just had to take a little care of my bird today, so I decided to give her a wash. Only problem was that it's kinda cold here now, I got bits of ice shooting out of the garden hose for a while there.

Got here clean and ready for the garage. Got her some new cool tips as a christmas present, and I'm gonna do a manifold swap along with another carb rebuild.

Even my neighbour came over, think he's abit envious about the displacement, as he only has a 2.1 volvo. He keeps repeting it all the time, " Is it really 5 liters?" lol
Here's the tips. cool eh? Same as came on -77 TA

I also like the looks and comments people give me. Weather its going to the Tim Hortons drive through and having some kid flip out while he's working, or just going to the beach and driving around (there's a beach here that you can drive on!) Concidering Ibought the car for $1000 off a friend's brother, some seem to think I've spent thousands on it, and I've only spent maybe $800! in 2 years.

I like bein on the back roads by myself, with noone around just tearin the hell out of the suspension and listenin to the Flowmasters roar echo off the hills. I've been in Army basic training/ait for the last 6 months, and just got back Thursday, so the countryside has been screamin for the past few nights...

yea i like going on the zig zag country roads that are like engulfed in trees...then you just take the ttops off, whine her up a little bit, get her doing a constant 80, and rip trhough the backroads with the wind blowing and the exhuast screaming..then you bring it into town, and get all the looks...escpecially me, cuz i live in a small town, and all the 80's camaros are owned by older guys that have them lookin pretty much stock, and with my sshood, z28 spoiler, lowered, and loud exhaust, the ladies tend to loook my direction alot...and being only 18, i get alot of phone numbers chicks dig the smell of rubber and a cloud of smoke too...

how can you only drive it 6 times a year!!!! thats insane...remember you build them to drive em, not to let them sit...they were made for the road, not the garage...mine is a daily driver pretty much, if i dont' drive her for a day or 2, i can't live with myself...

Jesus, what's not to like? I love it when I'm cruising around downtown. I alway manage to attract the import drivers. They pull up next to me at the stop light and they want to race. After quickly looking around for the cops, I'll oblige the young desperado and hit the pedal. Ha ha...better luck next time punk! Whew, that was fun!! I love the way my car handles the curves as I drive through the local canyon roads. It feels like its on rails. But the whole run comes to an end too quickly and before I know it I'm pulling into my driveway. That's the only part I don't like

even though it was a rust bucket and had close to 120,000 miles on her, the formie still got looks. more good then bad.

i loved cruising at night while the flowmaster rumbled away and the sweet sweet torque roasted my tires whenever i felt the need to. i liked getting compliments on how it sounded by girls and other people. i loved hearing the tires bark into second when i floored it doing burnouts and full throttle runs down deserted industrial streets.

alas she has died and awaits to be crushed because of the amount of rust damage. now i sit in my 94 escort gt. with a mazda 1.8L making 90ft/lbs of torque and 127hp. both at rpms the auto tranny never lets it reach and i wonder why? why do r!cers think cars like this with tiny engines that require upwards of 4000 to get into the 13's are in anyway sweet. the world may never know.

5 speed is fun... decent stereo stuffs is fun... and it just feels pretty good to me.. I dunno, my Camaro feels better than my GTA.. might just be b/c I've done a lot more work on the Camaro... *shrug*

The occasional comments are nice also... funny how many people are absolutely clueless about these cars, esp. my Camaro. "Nice car, is that thing fast?" ...and I have to wonder what's going through their mind. *sigh*

My ride could be better... so much I'd like to do but money is always a problem lol. Getting some new rims next year for sure. I get complements on the car maybe a couple times a year, guess it's just too plain looking. Pulled up at a store one day a couple months ago and a lady and her 4 or 5 yr old son were walking by. He mumbled something to his mom and she said, "My son really likes your car " I just smiled and said thanks Proably because it was the loudest car in the parking lot lol.

well yea, in my eyes, you build these cars for the ladies....i just can't wait till next summer, the chicks will get a load of a big 6 speed shifter **** ...yea i think a hood makes a huge difference, escpecially in my town, nobody has any body mods done to there 3rd gens, they are all stock, or were restored to stock...so yea a nice paint job, nice hood, nice spoiler, and a clean paint job really sets my car off from the crowd...

i cant wait to drive my car. i haven't driven my car since about july due to a engine problem.i planned on rebuilding the 400 with forged internals and gettin her back on the road. now its a different color and i have plans for a scott shaffirof 434 sbc. now it just sits in the garage waiting for the spring and the new motor.

i love when people complement me on my work. theres not that many poeple around me that appertiate these cars so when they give me a complement it makes me feel good. i got a decent amount of complements when it was black and i can't wait to hear what people say about the new color.

i still have yet to me a girl that likes the car. most of them don't.

haha....alot of the girls around here don't really dig the imports...i guess i'm lucky....alot of them say they like my car, or maybe its the driver..who knows.....they really like the ss hood tho....there is a couple otehr camaro's with the cowl hood, and they hate those for some reason.....but if you conscentrate on the motor of your car, you gotta make sure the girls are at the drag stripes when you race it.....they like nothin more than a beautiful car in action....

To me, nothing beats washing and waxing the car for a few hours on a nice warm day. Then take a bunch of pictures and then go to the gas station and fill up. Then at night, just cruise around with the t-tops off. I love seeing the street lights reflecting in my hood.

And compliments are always good to hear from people. Too bad I may not get to drive the IROC next summer

Its a long story, but basically I'm not sure where I'll be living. If you want details, read on

I begin Volvo's S.A.F.E. training program on January 24th and finish May 13th. From there, they find me a job at a dealership. The problem is, they may not be able to find one in my area. Out near the east coast, there are more jobs than technicians. So chance are, if they can't place me around here... its out east for me. If that's the case, the IROC will stay at home and I'll take my daily driver there.

Also, the engine is starting to knock, so I was considering building a new one over the winter. But since my daily driver is a pile, I am leaning towards buying a newer, nicer car for a daily driver rather than building an engine. Then, since the IROC won't pass emissions in February when it's due, I would tell them its not running, and build the engine in the summer, when I'll have some more money saved after buying my newer car. But that plan will only happen if I get into a Volvo dealership around here.

So we'll see what happens

Well a summer without my Camaro because I'm building an engine won't be bad. But a summer (or longer) without my Camaro because its thousands of miles away is bad.

I love workin on my car and since it was my first car im attached to it too many memorys. After i painted it 2 yrs ago it got alot of looks and people would always comment on it but I always had to say it still had the 305 tbi although it sounded good. Now its all apart again and im fixing all the little things that bothered me and it will be perfect this time engine and all. Im not just doing the outside this time not 1 bolt will be over looked.

Car: currently thirdgenless!!!
I like that fact that there are not very many around that are purple haze. I also like the comments I get about how good it looks. I get them at gas stations, grocery stores, etc. I have had three unsolicted offers from just coming up and asking if I wanted to sell it. My answer to all of them without even hearing the offer was "It is not for sale."

just have to build it right.... a new car is basically finished runs good and is in good shape. an older car has to be up to this standard and more so to earn the same respect from most girls.... women on the other hand are a different story.

except for the few imports worth noting girls like them and women could care less, nothing like a healthy breathing V8 with some great torque. throw in a nice paint job and it's a sealed deal.

Around here people cruise to Hamburger stand or Sonic. I like to see the looks on all the fourth gen owners faces, when I park and everybody passes up the fourth gens just to see mine. It's a good feeling when you pull up and everybody just migrates over to your car and just leaves everyone else standing there with blank looks on their faces.

Ive just recently gotten my car back on the road.. Finallly got around to detailing it good last weekend. Stopped for gas and got a random...DuDE you got a sweeet ride" from a passer by.

Later i cruised the parking lot of an establishment i was going to.....waiting for a prime parking spot to come available....after 3 passses i got front and center...backed that baby in! about 2 hours later I come out and theres a note , folded and stuck in my door handle.... it said..."NIce Car, if your interested in selling it call...etc.

The Gf thought that was funny....I think shes starting to see the light....

Goddag Goddag! tilstad,

I have owned many nice cars even a Porsche 930 turbo but nothing compares to the overall appearance and driving fun of a third gen for me. They have it all. Great looks, unlimited performance potential that does not require a second mortgage, tough bodies, excellent cornering ability, aerodynamics etc etc. I am especially pleased that I built the entire car on my own from the diff all the way to the paint. I would not let anyone else in the shop help even when they asked if they could. I enjoyed the work too much to give any of it away.

As for driving it... I love to rip past M5's, Porsches, or any other import for that matter on the MANY on/off ramps around here. It really gives me a kick to smoke the doors off some 100 grand car especially the dumbfounded look on those wuss yuppy faces afterwards

Just a real fun car that has gorgeous lines

My favorite part about it is when someone asks me what year it is and they cant beleive that its a 92' and an 18 year old kid takes so much care and pride into it to always have it nice and clean and keep the miles low

well, i love the sound of a v8. I also like that people THINK it is fast, but i dont tell them its not. T tops out and the gf next to me, is AWESOME. I am having a HARD time deciding whether to build a new drivetrain for it, or sell it and look for a tpi car.

Quick Reply: Man, I love my ride, what do you like about yours?
