hmmmmm
i found something's wrong with RAII
its like too much ...i donno
but i really like the agressive look it gives
But RAI flows better .....
but i think RAII will go perfect with a 92 nose
that's my plan
RAII + 92 NOSE !

Don't forget to do the 91-92 lights,
and here is a little better shot of the hood so you can see the depth,

If you are dead set on a RA hood then get the RA1 hood. I've seen both in person, painted to match. The RA2 hood just does NOT fit the body of a firebird very well. looks great on 4th gens, but not on 3rd gens.
Now the Ram Air 1 hood looks pretty damn sweet.

RA I looks so much better (at least with the 91-92 body). That's the one I want for my GTA. Now If I were you I'd go with the power bulge. Your engine is carburated so the hood would be functional too. Anyway, pics of the scoops you're talking about would be appreciated. Hay muchos Fbodys en Chile?

Yeah rarely do I think the RA II hood looks good, its just too bulky. With a 91-92 nose I think it would look bad...I think they look best with the 85-90 TA noses with the gfx, that gives it a more muscular look. The RA II hodd just looks like a flat hood with two big bulky humps just growing out of it, the RA I on the other hand is more sculpted and I think it just flows a lot better. However I love my power bulge =)

I personally would go with neither. but if you gotta choose one I think the RAI looks good on thirdgens. I think the II looks hideous (doesnt match the car at all)
And if you do get a 91/92 nose, I actually really like the RA I on them!

which is which....the 98+ firebird lookalike hood looks so good and flows so well with it's 98+ body style. it looks completely out of place and rather odd on 3rdgens but it's just my opinion...you want clean, classy style go with the lesser of the two. if your looking to really stand out go with the obvious one.
those things look even worse on camaros...

RAI or formula hood. IMHO RAII looks too overstated and does not suit the thirdgen cars at all. $.02...

For showing the car, Ram II!! Ram I lookd like a flatten nostril on hood and the piece close to the windshield is too wide, Ram II design maybe doesn't fit the 3gen but definitely looks aggressive, so...
1. Power bulge = smooth and fit
2. Ram I = oh,you got a new hood and ....
3. Ram II = Wow, what a hood!!
For the 3gen owner in Taiwan, I feel so exciting to know ASCD will make Ram Ii scoop, I will definitely buy one!!!

I am highly debating this too. My hood has a dent that can't be banged out so eventually I plan on getting another hood. I'de like to get something different than stock. I am not entirely fond of the Ram Air I hood. The Ram Air II....I always wondered if it "fit" the 3rd gen cars. I am getting that I am not the only one that thinks that. I love the agressive look, but in some pics it seems too bulky looking. Like the ram air part is very high. I have never seen one on a car before so it's tough judging solely by pictures. This is a tough decision!! Plus there is the fitment issues too. Is that the case with all RAII hoods from the few companies that manufacture them?
Maybe I should just stay with a stock hood!! lol

Simple,
Ra2 + 85-90 gfx = GOOOOOD,
Ra2 + 82-84/91-92 gfx = BAAAAAAD,
Follow this simple equation and you will never go wrong, atleast in my eyes

I say if you are going for people's reaction, here's what I think when I see these cars:
LT1 Fomula/TA with the ram air 1= wonder if that Firebird is even a V8.
Ram air 2 on the LS1 cars= Wow a WS6 with the big 4 nostrils! Those cars are quick.

lookalike hood looks so good
I think the RA2 hood is ridiculous.
The RA1 looks OK, but the power bulge looks best. It's almost like the RA2 hood belongs on a fourth gen. If there were a way to put both onto 1 hood, I'm sure one of you guys would figure out how.

CharcoalBird is a recovering Ram Air II hood user. He's been clean since 2021 and now has an outreach program to other active users. It's been a good thing, we're all proud of him and the cars he is building now. The main thing that RAII users need to know is it doesn't just affect you, it's really difficult on everybody that knows you and has to watch it happen.

Yes, just a small poke at the 2004 date. The other questions were serious though. Great work. Would like to see it on-car.
