Firebird 6" thick parts book

Novass has bought the book from me, so he will now be taking over these fullfillments. Thanks!

I aquired a 6" thick parts and illustrations manual from an old pontiac dealer. It covers all Firebirds, Formula's, and Trans Am's for the third generation (82-92). It has every part number known to man for every firebird car between 82-92. The book weighs in at 13 Ibs.

So if you need any GM part number for any reason for any firebird, let me know. I just got this book so I will have to learn how to use it cause it's almost 2,000 pages.

IAC Valve - 17111288
TPS - 17111606

NOTE: These #'s are for Firebird, but since the 1985 LB9 is the same, I am 99% sure that these numbers are correct for the Iroc as well.

Josh, how about a part number for the distributor cover that mounts at the rear of a TPI plenum for a 1990. Will the book tell you if it's the plastic or aluminum cover? Thanks.

Well, since f-bodies didnt come with aluminum plenum extensions, it wont be in this book, so it only lists the plastic one. However, the corvette did use the aluminum extension, and i do have that part number. I will give you the plastic and aluminum one:

*Keep in mind that the aluminum extension uses different screws than the plastic one.

Plastic Extension - 14083696
Screws for plastic extension(3X) - 14083852

Aluminum Extension - 10108425
Screws for aluminum extension(3X) - 14082425

Hope this helps.

that is the one that is listed. it says that its a 'Idle Air Control Valve Kit'.

I found it at www.auto-parts-for-less.com. IMO they are 2nd best next to www.gmpartsdirect.com.

when you get to the first mentioned site above, click on ''order gm parts and enter the P/N and make of your car. it will give you a few results at $65 apiece. so this part number is correct.

hope this helps.

Tim, The book i got was only on firebirds.....but if the fuse door panel is the same as a firebird one, then it will be the same part number.

this is the one in my 88 TA, i dont know if this is the one you want or not, but ill show a pic, and let me know if this is the one or not.

1) '87 350 TPI Dipstick tube - 14101124
2) Fuse Panel cover (pictured above) - 10019617 (discontinued)
3) 89 TA foglights - Lens - 16502945, Housing - 16503526, if you need any screws, retainers, brackets, clips, washers, or whatever else you need for it let me know.
4) '90 Formula hood insulation - 14099508
5)And for the U-Joint, all i could find is the U-joint for the 88 JG1 TA, i couldnt find the 87 w/a JG1 option.

NJITIROC - I picked mine up on ebay for $30, it came straight off of the shelf of a bankrupt Pontiac dealership. I have seen a few brand new ones on ebay as well, but they went for a little bit more money and didn't come with a fancy thick metal binder.

joshp14,

Any idea on part number/name for the air deflector/spoiler thing on the front of this firebird? It just before the front tire on the bottom. I can't find it anywhere and I need a new one for my 88 Formula. This is not my car BTW, it's justins86bird's car. It was the best picture in the Reader's Rides I could find. Thanks.

If your car has the RPO W62 (aero package) and i assume it does being it's a formula, then you need p/n 10118484. Keep in mind that this is the part that i have circled below. There is also another piece that mounts in the same relative location that is maybe only 24 inches wide. let me know if the one below is the right piece or not.

It lists for 21.60 at www.auto-parts-for-less.com and it doesnt show up at gmpartsdirect.com

Joshp14,

I don't have the aeropackage (mine looks like the car in the pic), but you did point me in the right direction and I found most of the part I needed in about 30 seconds. Thanks for helping me out!

I need a little clarification here first...What do the screws actually hold in place...the shroud? does it bolt to the radiator mount? Is it 4 screws accross the top? Also, is your car an LB9 or L98?

Ok, here's a couple. I need numbers for the plastic contact switches for the horn that are inside the airbag assembly on a 91 TA. I also need numbers for the bolts that attach the runners to the plenum on the TPI system.

87GTA Runner - Bolt for upper radiator mount - 11516594

91DropTopTA - Plastic Contact switch w/wire - 17989608, there are 3 different size bolts that are used when attaching the runners to the plenum/manifold. My book doesn't say where exactly they go...but i will give you EXACTLY what my book says for the description of each bolt:

14081016 (PAN HD, TORX, M8x1.25x39.5)
14081017 (TORX, 8x1.25x54)
14081014 (M8x1.25x30)

i also have a question for you 91droptopta, how many bolts TOTAL hold the runners to the engine..both sides together, and this includes to the manifold?

Hey Josh, me again. How about hood insulation and window weatherstripping, both sides, for 87 GTA. The weatherstripping is the ones that go on the door opening up to and around the windows, not the ones actually that mount on the doors. Thanks again Josh.

Hi Josh. I'm going to pick up my weather strips and hood insulation tomorrow. I'm glad you remembered about the clips, because I didn't. I'm getting them , too. Thanks a bunch. Well, I've got another one. How about a radio pod for an 87. This might be a tough one.

If this is what you are talking about, then the number is 10125293. The vents in the side, and the bracket inside the top come with this pod too. Keep in mind that it doesnt come with the radio trim plate.

That's it buddy. You came through again. Nice gauges BTW. I also notice you have the rare badge signifying a premium sound system. Do you know if you can get them anywhere. I'm putting in a killer system and it would be a nice little touch.

not sure man. i have the p/n for the little 'performace sound' badge, and that is 10041405, but im not sure if its discontinued or not. On mine it looks like it's riveted or the prongs are melted into the back of the trim plate. only other place you could try is ebay or a boneyard.

89 WS6 wheel centers

Hi Josh, Jim here, would you be able to tell me the number for a 1989 Formula 350 w/ WS6 silver wheel center cap. I lost one with the black WS6 logo on it and can't find it any where. My car only has 16,000 miles on it. thanks in advance.
