Keyed!!!

for the love of pete! I got a new paint job in september and someone just keyed my car. The scratch starts at the hatch and then continues down the entire length of the hood and its pretty deep. Buffing doesn't seem to help...does anyone have an estimate on how much it will cost to get fixed at a shop?

I hate that kinda ****. If I had a problem with someone, I wouldn't key his car or vandalize his property, I wait by his car until he comes back and then we'll take car of business the old fashioned way........

Your best bet would be to take it to an auto body shop for an estimate. That way they can see the scratch in person to give you a good quote.

Every panel that was keyed and the adjacent panels, need to be repainted and blended onto. For example: in your case, if the rear quarter panel, door and fender were keyed the whole side of the car and the adjacent panels (rear deck, roof, hood and front bumper cover) will have to be blended onto after the scratches are repaired so the repainted panels will be un-noticeable from the previous paint. After that all those panels will have to be clear coated, color sanded and buffed.

I hope your insurance will cover it because it is very costly.

The problem with parking far away is its an easier target for theft. What I do at work is try and park with the other people that work their, we all love cars, so we arnt going to fling our doors open on eachother.

People are so ignorant.

I was at work one day and I look outside (I didn't park with my friends) and some (#&^%(%^(@#^(#$&^%@()#%$ ARG! Pisses me off! Some woman had pushed her shopping cart up against my truck, atleast it was my rear bumper, and her stupid kids were climbing all over in the cart and bumping into my truck, I was so close to slapping her, but I couldn't do that infront of her kids, even if she was setting a terrible example. If it had been a camaro I know for a fact it would have been scratched up. But I got that big ol bumper on my bronco, so it was fine.

I really, really, really hate people. I say it every day. The ignorance and just plain STUPID crap I see people do all the time is just pathetic....and it seems to get worse every year.

"People should never F*CK with a mans ride" well i'm a chick but that is the truth...it's so frustrating cause i know i will never be able to find them and beat the living crap out of them

i usually park out in the middle of nowhere but that doesnt even help...i was parked at the end of the lot at my school one time and this kid parked right next to me, keep in mind there was no other cars parked down this far...he opens his door and bang, slams it right into my door and I was still in the car! The injustice of it all...thanks for the advice though.

Man that sucks. The other day I came walking out of the mall and I saw that someone must have backed into my car because there was blue paint all around the wheel well and the quarter panel. Luckily it came out with some paint thinner and there weren't any scratches or dents. I was still pretty pissed but it could have been worse.

I work at a grocery store and the thing that really gets me is that people won't take the extra ten seconds it takes to go put their car in the stupid car corral. Especially here in kansas where there is wind every day! I don't know how many people have come comlaining to me because a cart blew across the lot and broke out a headlight or taillight. It all comes down to common courtesy, and not many people have that anymore.

That suck big time I work at a hot rod company and sometimes I have to park out back in the gravel parking lot, one day I went out and there were tons of scratches on the rear bumper and my pass tail light was cracked and chipped in some places. Some dumbazz decided to do a freakin burnout on gravel without regard to others vehicles around. IF I ever find out who did it they will get the same treatment. I hope you find the punk who did this to your car.

I completely agree with you amish_Z28!

I work at the Walmart super center at 21st and maze, back in the Tire and Lube Express area, and I see the carts all over the place and it pisses me off. The lazy bastards just leave their cart in all the parking spots so we have to move them for the poor helpless idiots just so we can park other peoples cars, so they can pick them up and leave the cart in the parking spot. How freaking smart do you have to be to realize those are parking spots for cars....not carts.....

And the wind is for sure, I can look out the doors to our shop and see one go racing by....falling over....me getting pissed and throwing them 10 feet into the grass (not very helpful, but it helps me )

I was at K-mart with my dad one day, and while we were in the truck a cart from way, way on the other side was heading in our direction....that cart rolled for a long time, lol.....it turned more towards us when it got closer and I was about to jump out but it would have it the door, and it barely went by and hit some car behind us.

How conciderate of people to do that crap!

But, we arnt responsible for cart damage....you can thank your fellow citizens of this lazy world.

People, Are, Stupid!

Sorry to hear about your car. Same thing happened to me except worse. I was at school and when the bell rang to leave I went to my car to go home. I discorvered that someone keyed it. Starting at the front of the fender and ending up at the tail light on the passanger side. It was down to metal and it sucked getting it fixed. Expensive too. Someone hit me though on the same side so I didn't have to pay for it all.

I just now got back from washing the salt off of my car and noticed that some piece of crap backed into my front drivers side fender. That is like the 4th time that that fender has been hit. This time they even managed to hit the freakin nose. I am so sick of this kind of stuff happenin. If this happens after the car gets painted I will absolutely flip out.

It is a good thing that I have a new fender in the garage.

I don't care if I was put in jail for a week, I'd still be obligated to beat the living **** out of someone for doing that. It's not only vandalizing, its ruining something someone has put their heart and soul into if its a customized vehical. But no vehical should be vandalized.
