The more I look at cowl hoods the more I like them... it's a throw-up between the Harwood 2" cowl or the 2.5" Daytona Twin Turbo... (Funny, ASCD calls this hood the Iroc Hood, or the Iroc Turbo hood... both are the same hood, just one is on a second gen... I forget who makes this hood and calls it the Daytona Twin Turbo.... website: http://www.americansportscar.com/pro...eneration3.htm )....

Whatever you want to put on it. What we think doesn't matter, its your car.
If you want to put gfx on, get IROC rims, a new paint job, and a V8, why not just buy an IROC and paint it, or a Z28 and get IROC rims? Wouldn't that be easier and possibly cheaper?

i was gonna say... put 17's on it, a nice drop, and shiny dual-dual exhaust tips
i would love to see a non-groundFX SC with 17's, that would look sweet!

91-92 Maro ground effects, SS Hood, IROC or 17" wheels, but for now, you can strip and re-clearcoat the wheels you have. Its a bit of work, but trust me they will look 100% better!

I only like a few SCs. Yours is one of them. The silver stripes would look nice. I like the stripes that have a thin seperation between the stripes and don't have the pinstrips. Ground effects would look cool, but also very, very, common looking. You could just put a z28 front end on your car for a more aggressive look without having the full ground effects package and the common look.

Thanks for the compliments guys... the car is a mess but I'm cleaning it slowly but surely...
I'm going to strip the rims, polish them and clearcoat them...
I got my Daytona hood, and it will be repainted with two silver/chameleon strips... the grills will be painted silver and the louvers will be left black.
The interrior won't match at that point... I'll not worry about that though because my interrior is in 100% mint condition...
The V8 coming this spring will lower the stance nicely... and it'll get a few more upgrades before i'm done with it by the end of next summer...

Kudos on you fixing up your car, sounds like you are on your way. I absolutely hate that Daytona hood or turbo hood or whatever it is. Looks like someone made it out of cardbord and slapped some louvers on it.

just my opinion on something,
if u plan on doing all that why don't you just sell the car and buy an iroc or something.
i had a 1991 rs before. when i balanced what i wanted into turning it into a z28, or even buying an iroc instead the costs were much less to sell the car.

i love the look of the hood, cant wait for pics when u get it painted. might i ask how you are going about building a 350 that will run 13's for 1500. i have contemplated doing this myself in the somewhat near future, not for the car i have now, but i was gonna buy somethin like yours and as you say "ULTIMATE SLEEPER!!!!!!!!!" anyway let me know in a PM or somethin and good luck

why not?
what's a hood got to do with sleeperism, lots of people put hoods on cars with no motors, now if he runs open headers or straight pipes then i might agree

haah yeah i agree a big hood would set your car off and people would think there is somehting under it... i would classify my car as a sleeper because most of you guys would prob say it has a 305 or maybe a 350 in it but if you open the hood there is a 406 shoved in there
here is a pic of my black z with the 406 and my friends 88 with a ram air 2 hood that has a 388 under it... you tell me which one looks more like a sleeper

I think you should put the old hood back on, paint the car white with a Z-28 nose, lower it a little and put some nice 17''s on it. It would be a sleeper, but look good too. It looks like a real clean car, though.

I guess we're using the same term for two different things... what I mean is that I'm building a 350 to perform with little to no new parts, ect... my original mock-up was of a 350 that I got from a junkyard... washed with everything still in it, put fully ported 305 heads on it and a grind very similar to the XE268 cam...
I'm still playing with that, though now I'm looking at a block thats been recently redone with flat top pistons, which I would put some 72 or 68 CC vortecs heads on (havn't done head research yet)... it comes with a powermax 2050 cam...
A 350 with vortec heads and the Xe268 cam makes 400 HP and about 425 TQ... which is solid 13's... 305 heads have been ported by a few members of our site here to flow damn near exactly the same as Vortec heads... so I assume a buildup with ported 305 heads will put me close to those numbers, which will still be in the 13's...
I'm still waiting on DD2K results on a vortec headed 2050 cammed 9.3:1 engine... probably very similar, just with a slightly smalled powerband...
True... I hadn't thought of the hood giving the car away.. I know alot of yuo consider the hood white trash, but I love the hood and reguardless of what you think... of all the hoods I've seen on Camaro's in my days... I've only seen this hood on 2 other Camaros's, one in a guys side yard, which has been sitting for -years- and another one on a red Camaro in the Home Depot parking lot near me in Toms River... Seen plenty of regular ol Harwoods and cervini's and twin turbo ones... I do not like the look of the big block and SS hoods...
to each his own... lemme go fix my profile now...

See, I told ya....
Sleepers are not supposed to stand out.
Now if you have some big hood on you car, it will stand out.
No matter weather there is a bad *** engine under there, or a v6...
The whole point of a sleeper is to make it look like nothing is modified......

I get it KJ... thanks..
Well no matter what it turns out to be.. it's going to be my baby, that _I_ built... something I can love...
Not the plain ugly slow looking 2.8 power POS it is now...
It'll be better with paint and a 13 second pass under it's belt... my goal for next summer...

I say tint the windows, paint it, maybe some headlight covers, and that's all. I don't care for GFX, they add weight...it is an appearance thing...
Black looks good with dark tint on an F-body...
repaint the wheels to match, too...that would look sweet!

You think like I do... those are exactly my plans... this week when I get some more brake parts for the car I'm picking up some black primer for the hood and some airplane remover stuff to strip the wheels... I'm not going to paint them... simply strip and polish...
It'll get tinted as well... but much later on down the road...
