single plane clearance on 84 Vette crossfire
New intake setup.
I measured carefull the height of my current Holley projection mani with the GM 7.4L (1994-1995) with spacers(2@.50inch) to clear pod and carb hat. Came to 10.95 inches and is clearly rubbing ever so slightly on the bottom of hood at 3 inches from center of TB at rear and 4 inches from TB at front of TB on carb hat. Total height is 10.95 in.
Motown SP(5.625) set up with Edel 4B TB(2.625) and carb hat(2.42) is 10.67 so that allows about .28 inch more room!
I think I will have the Motown shaved at top base .50 inch to alllow more room. Need to verify the butterflies will not contact the runners. Looked ok though.
This may help someone in future.

Hey Ronny,
we already talked about this via PM but i might just write it here as well so others can read
Thanks for posting your measures anyways. So it's rubbing on the hood insulation if your C4 still got that?
Sounds good about your new combination with the Motown single plane. another quarter of an inch, plus additional clearance from shaving the Motown should allow plenty clearance then? You'd get about an eighth shy of an inch hood clearance if i got that right (1/8" from your previous setup, plus 0.28 with the motown, plus 0.50 base shaving).

No insuklation. All fiber glass.
I may not have to shave mani BUT I am going to a plate for N20 so that may be perfect. Now I have a nozzle in hat snorkle pointed towards venturi's but I think spray may be hitting the other side of hat and condensing. Impossible to tell.

lol right i totally forgot about the fiberglass hood... not used to all the vette specifics
hmm yes, shaving manifold seems reasonable then!
good luck with your build then.. rest about the TBI stuff i asked can probably kept in PMs
