Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
Still waiting on my HSR to ship.. I have my fuel rail kit (PCE139.1011), die grinder and burrs for porting the intake, and fuel pressure regulator (PCE139.1011). Anything else I'm missing that I'll need? Just coming from a stock l98 right now.
I read I'll also need a 45 degree waterneck, found this one for $25. What are you guys using??
http://www.xtremerpm.com/Edelbrock/P...FRCqaQod_DAA7A
Also, if the large cap distributor doesn't work what are you guys using in place of this that will fit? Or can you modify the large cap to work?
Any suggestions on a fuel pressure gauge for the regulator?

You will more than likely be needing bigger injectors depending on your cam choice. The waterneck, most of the info ive found recommends using a water neck and upper radiator hose for a tbi camaro. A distributor for a 87-92 camaro will have the small cap you need to clear the intake.

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
That's good to know, I didn't know about the distributor for a 87-92 camaro working so I guess mine will work then with being an 88. I've got a Comp 280XFI cam but no heads yet. I was thinking of going with afr 195's but have also been reading some good things about profiler 195 heads and there cheaper. Would Accel 30lb injectors work? I know I've read some people have had fitment issues with the bosch injectors.

can anyone tell me the size of the vacuum ports on the back of the Chinese plenum? is it 3/8 and 1/4 or 1/8?

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
with the comp 280XFI cam and stock heads id go with 24# injectors FORD RACING are easy to find and i believe are better quality than Venom or Accel injectors. but honestly i dont know how well stock heads will handle .570" of lift, valve springs are a must and at .570 lift you will pay a pretty penny for a good set of valve springs. Now with the 280XFI cam and 195cc heads run 30# injectors, again i know FORD RACING injectors are inexpensive and decent quality. check to see what lift the valve spring in the 195cc heads are rated at to see if you need to upgrade them. most good aftermarkets heads are rated to .575" or .600" lift
Do these hook up to the stock vacuum ports right?

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
ok I have yet to find any fittings that fit in the vacuum ports in the back of the plenum I ordered 3/8 and 1/8 fittings and I think I have made the 1/8 work but the 3/8 didn't fit went to the hardware store and couldn't find any fittings that fit either so I thought I would buy a tap and just tap it to the right thread and the 3/8 tap is way to small I guess the size on taps are different or something its more like a 5/8 tap size which the hardware store didn't have any of just my luck can someone send me a link to something that will fit or a tap that will rethread it to the standard size fittings I can buy thanks for any help guys.

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
I'm actually almost ready to install mine finally. I've been doing a lot of suspension work. In order to get the injectors to seat in there (I'm using LS6 injectors on my 406), I had to use a 3/4" drill bit to create a recess for the injector to sit in. My rails were about 1/8" too high. I didn't disturb the sealing surface, just put a 1/8" step for the injector to seat in. Everything fits perfectly now.

I've emailed procomp a few times (now called Speedmaster), and they told em 6 weeks out each time.
They might show up to market again one day, but it sounds like they do small production runs.

probably another 50-150 bucks in misc fuel line parts is all u should really need

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
Fuel lines would, I assume, cost about the same between either of the intakes.
Probably not the place for the question, but I would think you'd at very least want a '730 ECM and probably better to get EBL or something like that.

Throttle cable and bracket? TV cable if running a 700R4? I figure that a stock one wouldn't work so you'd need something like a Lokar setup.

if ur starting with a tpi motor u could more then likley reuse the cable , or u woud need to grab a carb or tbi one , im not sure what i woud do for the bracket , but that shouldnt be to hard to figure out , the linkage for the tv cable could be a small issue though

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
I asked/Told Edelbrock to make a Vortec Head version of their 7110 Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram manifold Years ago. They had no plans at the time to produce this.
Would have only required minor casting core box modifications to do it.
Make it fit and bolt onto a Vortec head. Make it a Universal manifold with port height and bolts holes to fit both head styles. Add blank Injector bosses to the casting for EFI or Nitrous.
Now SpeedMaster79 has jumped in with a Weiand Hi ram Stealth ram knockoff and cannot make the FAST enough..
Cannot wait for them to knock off the Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram, (in a vortec pattern or universal version) They wil sell every one they can cast Just like I told Edelbrock years ago.
The TRX style Eddy Street Tunnel Ram and the Vortec Etec/Fastburn/Vortec bowtie heads are a good match up for street strip bracket racing.
Would take very little to modify Upgrade their existing Casting cores for production.

I switched to a miniram on my 412, so mine is available for sale. The lower has been welded (to cover a 1206 port) and machined, and painted orange. The upper is polished.

I see what you mean. It's got a raised cast flat spot. I have a polished vortec intake in my office looking at it and I see, you just drill straight down.

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
My understanding is that those flat pads on each corner of the intake can be drilled for the Vortec bolt pattern.
See what Speedmaster lists for the Vortec EFI intake: http://store.speedmaster79.com/p-387...-manifold.aspx
I have zero personal knowledge of this

I saw this on eBay today. I am not associated with the company, and I don't know anything more than what the ad says. I do know for under $200 this is intriguing...
