I hear that the Chinese use inferior aluminum but that may be a poke. They definately steal our military secrets though since that has been proven. If we didn't help them in WWII they would all still be speaking Japanese and there population would be much less. How quickly people forget.

Since Japan was taking there land as quickly as they could march to it the only real choice they had is for us and the British to help them. Chenault knew Changkichek or however you spell his name and his wife very well. This led to the formation of the flying tigers which drastically slowed the Japanese down untill we entered the war. The Chinese made airstrips for the B29s by hand. Once the B29s got involved they started having very bad days. To this day the worst bombing the world has ever seen was the incindiary bombing 300 B29s gave to Tokyo. The guys in the B29s could see the fires 150 miles away. There were rivers of fire that melted asphalt and glass and were so deep that people could not tell if the debris was people or limbs from trees. Curtis Lemay was very good at his job. The incindiary bombing did more damage than fat man and little boy. I think Putan is a dangerous man who needs a history lesson. He thinks like Hitler. First the Sudatan land and then Poland.

War typically has a cast full of monsters like Hitler, Himler, Tojo, Stalin, etc. Lemay did save hundreds of thousands of American lives. The estimated American loss of life invading Japan was around five hundred thousand. The two atomic bombs saved us going through that so we can say by that logic that the Manhatten project and Oppenheimer were monsters as well. The Soviets lost over twenty five million people and still owe the United States over 11 billion (1942 dollars) that they have not paid one cent toward. The only way to completely win a war is not to have one. This way no one has to be a monster.

Proximity shells also played a role in taking out a lot of their aircraft. It was a secret they didn't know about.

Re: new chinesse 285$ hsr
Lemay went into it with an open mind. He let high altitude bombing go on for a while but they finally figured out that the jet stream over Japan was making there bombs go way off course. They finally figured out that low level bombing worked very well and at night there fighters rarely came up so problem solved. After a short while the P51s had air superiority and they could bomb anytime they wanted. Lemay was advising Kennedy to attack over the Cuban missile crisis but so was all the other military advisers. They really don't get how big the jeenie is they have in the bottle. We were even closer to the end of the world in 1981 when a soviet sensor detected that we had launched (when we didnt) and they almost fired everything they had at us. One Russian colonel disobeyed orders and that saved the world.

FWIW, I was done w/ my last post.
Would be cool if the intake will work for both types of engines.

Re: new chinesse 285$ hsr
I think there are two arguments against this product that are being made and they're being grouped together as one.
There is the issue with buying a foreign product, which I can see the argument that it's no longer feasible to just buy American made products in a global economy.
Then there is the issue of buying a product that is a stolen design. I wouldn't have an issue that someone buys a manifold made in China, but I do think it's a crappy thing to do to knowingly buy an item when the manufacturer stole the design from someone else. You can convince yourself that there wasn't that much R&D for the product or it wasn't that great to begin with, but it's still stolen.
People who own companies aren't always rich people with pockets so deep they won't know the difference. These companies take calculated risks when developing products for our hobby. People buying knock-offs makes it that much harder to make a good business case for designing new products for our enjoyment.

This has nothing to do with 1 percents and taxes and political affiliations, this is about the future of the world we live in. Getting hung up on where your automotive widget came from is like getting upset about some curb rash after your car gets totalled by a greyhound bus.
It doesnt matter where you buy your parts from. The smaller companies will either get smaller and more expensive or they will die. The larger companies will move their production overseas because they dont have a choice if they want to compete. There are very few winners in this game, but this policy started in the early 90s, and I'd say we are barely to half time yet. The trends are already very clear, most people around the world will lose, but the winners are the ones calling the shots.
http://www.dancarlin.com/disp.php/cs...ts-republicans (Skip to 20 minutes in to get to the meat of the argument)
Counterfeit parts are a huge concern, and they're getting worse. But the damage has already been done, it's just playing itself out at this point.

u guys can argue about it being counterfit or not all u want , i had a real hsr in my hands first , it wouldnt work if i decide to have my heads ported out , they r already at 1206 , if well i should say when i send my heads out to be cnc ported they will be 1207 , and the procomp can be ported that far the holley cannot without welding it up

why does it say it will only fit up to 1986? Did the intake bolt pattern change after that?

Yes ... the 4 center holes (2 on eaxh side) on the 87' up SBC are at a different angle ... u can elongate the holes in the intake to make it work just don't tighten them down too hard or u could possibly crack the casting because of the pressure not being distributed evenly

the intake also has the bosses that u can drill for vortec heads
my heads are drilled for both standard and vortec intake pattern, i just used the standard pattern instead of drilling the 8 holes for the vortec pattern

Hell I had to do some port matching to my Holley stealth ram for just a 1205 gasket.
Your going to have some time in it, but by the looks it will be just as good as a Holley.
Yeah there will always be those who crucify foreign manufacturers, Japanese manufacturers like Nissan, Toyota and Honda have always been good at taking an American product and making it better, that came from a Detroit Chrysler supplier!
Best of luck to you, it takes everything you got to get a conventional 23* small block to perform up to ls engines and the new types of v8's made these days.

Re: new chinesse 285$ hsr
Mine came in and as previously mentioned it SERIOUSLY needs portwork to make it work. Since I'm running this intake on an LT1 i had to shave an 1/8th of an inch off of each side of the intake in order for it to sit flat due to the valve cover rails being larger on the LT heads. I am now in the process of porting the intake to match the heads as we speak. I'll post up pics when I'm done.
