Cam Swap?
I'm looking for advice and opinions from the vast TGO brain trust. I will soon be removing the intake (HSR) for further modifications (EGR incorporation...). I have a Comp XFI280 cam on the shelf in the garage. Would you / should I go ahead and swap the cam while I'm this far into the motor? I realize degreeing the cam will be more difficult with the motor in the car, I just wonder if it (cam degreeing) will be accurate, within the skills of the degree'er (me). The motor has a static compression ratio of right at 10:1, 2600 stall Edge converter, 3.73:1 axle. The engine currently hits peak horsepower @ 5800 RPM. See sig for further details.
Well, woodja?
Thanks!

Re: Cam Swap?
Uh...besides the obvious extra labor involved Does the motor have sufficient compression, etc? 62K miles.
Or should I wait for not-too-distant 355 or 383 short-block with 10.7:1 or so compression?
