280 XFI update
With 1200 miles and constant seat of the pants fiddling with my stone age Calmap 6.2 software my 383 is usable and enjoyable to drive.
Smooth (well almost) idle around 1000 rpm-
Brakes are fine-
Will cruise around town close to 2000 rpm-
Great response at almost any rpm-
Hints of copious ponies- I will have to do high load, high rpm with a good A/F meter on a dyno. I ran it up in 4th (going uphill) yesterday, not quite smooth. Too many snakes on that trail to do it seat of the pants.

Re: 280 XFI update
Sounds good. The 280XFI is what I'm thinking about putting in my 383, AFR 195cc, 10.7 compression, and Stealthram. But, I will be going with 1.52 rockers instead of the 1.6s. Just need something reliable, not all that radical, dependable and will get me around. Also thinking about a custom 224/230 XFI cam as well....not really sure.

Re: 280 XFI update
Just for reference here is the XFI-268 at idle, (picture quality sucks) idle is nice on a 1.6 rocker, 383
I have a new XFI-292 on the shelf waiting to go in the new 383 for the IROC and I'm selling the CC306 that was new, some time when I get the paint done...

Dyno with the automatic in it.

When are you supposed to go to the dyno?

Re: 280 XFI update
ST-
I'd go with the XFI 268 with 1.6 rockers for what you want. I think it will scream when you want it and be totally tractable. I went with the 280 cam because I've got these 210 cc Dart heads.
I never got much going using 1.6s on cams designed for 1.5s. I bet it works the other way too.
Gixx-
Dyno is sometime...... my racecar (roundy, round with a 1043cc GSXR 1000)gets first dibs on my attention. After I put together this friend's FZR 1000 (a puzzle), then I'll treat my baby to a dyno tune. Sorry it's not sooner.
PS-I have the fizzer on my work bench- finally!

Very true....just didn't think the LSK lobes will work on the GEN I engines for some reason.....I'll start another thread on this one.
