Rock Auto Parts
I've always had good service from them, and have found their parts to be of good quality. Quick shipping, too.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
Just ordered some brake pads from them last week. They were $20 cheaper than any of the local places. I've had good luck with them on everything I've ordered.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
Another thumbs up for rock auto in my book
Iv'e only gotten the wrong part once and they offered to have me ship it back and send a replacement when I asked
They also have a discount code they send that's usually 2% off or so
The chain parts stores usually have the prices marked way up

Re: Rock Auto Parts
I'll give them an A, but I'll hold the ++++s. When I ordered some rear calipers, they did send one with, and one without hardware (photos and text said they should have the hardware). They made it right, but it was an unwelcome delay, and another 2 trips to the post office in town for me (one to pickup the second caliper, and another to return their old one using the label they sent with the second one).
In another batch order, they sent me an old, USED, dirty NAPA radiator hose. Not used as packaging or padding, and not a part I ordered . When I called, they could not explain how or why this piece of trash (literally) had been boxed and shipped to me. Or why it would even be in their warehouse. Someones sense of humor, I guess.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
Just wanted to post about my recent experience with Rockauto.com and how terrible it was. I ordered a AC Delco oil pressure sending unit and within the 2 year warranty it failed and began to leak which was not the end of the world so I ordered a new one invoking the warranty and I had to pay for the replacement but would be refunded minus shipping. Not a big deal and within a few days I had the new part and refund once they received the old one. However, as soon as I installed it the oil leak began again and was even worse. There seemed to be a manufacturing defect where the 2 piece sender is crimped together and was the same as my first one only this one failed immediately. I then try to make another warranty claim on the website for the new sender, seeing as how customer service is near non existent, and was notified the original 2 year warranty on the first sender was expired and no other warranty action could be taken but I could order another one full cost to me...At this point I reach out via email and a day later they respond and state that a replacement cannot be sent under warranty because it expired, I explain that the part that failed was the brand new one and they stated once again the warranty expired. So now I'm out nearly $40 on a defective made in China AC Delco paperweight that was broken out of the box. In hindsight when I received the part 2 years ago and saw where it was made I should've sent it back then. At this point I am likely done with Rockauto as a result of the lousy customer service and should've known there is always a price to pay for lower prices and to deal locally.
Also the Carquest oil sending unit I found at Advance is less money with a lifetime warranty and works great with no leaks and more accurate readings in case anyone is looking for a good one.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
That's a bummer that they wouldn't make it right. I recently had a decent experience with Rock Auto returns... although it's questionable as to why I needed to in the first place. This was the original Standard Motor Products TS-136 I was sent:
Chips in the plastic, dirt in the threads and on the body. Clearly been in a car before, no way to guarantee for how long or whether it was even the right one. Even the box was roughly one-finger opened with handwriting on it.
I immediately requested a replacement and they shipped out a new one as soon as the tracking number for the return was in the mail at no cost to me. For reference, the second one looked much more like a new unit:
I'm sure somebody did a dirty switcheroo on rockauto and I can't fault them given that all ended up right with me in the end, but I think they should be inspecting their returns more carefully and not passing on the problem to the next sucker.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
I’ve had one or 2 other returns and they were smooth with no issues but I can’t understand their thinking on the warranty.
That part they sent you was definitely on another vehicle at some point but at least they made it right.
I have never had issues with returns at any of the big parts stores so I think I will shop local from now on.

Re: Rock Auto Parts
I’ve made a few purchases from RockAuto with nothing less than great success, including a return on a wholesale part. I’m completely satisfied with their service, still less expensive than local options with cross boarder shipping and more reliable with delivery dates.
Gotta say it - doubles on the magnets is a bummer, and no thirdgen yet?
Cmon, man.
