WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

I'll try to keep this short. I purchased a new rear spoiler for my '87 Formula from "Young's F-Body" also known as Mikes Camaro. Things started going wrong when I took it out of the box. It was cracked in two different places. I called immediately and was ask what my body man thought about the cracks and repairing it. I had no body man as I was planning on getting it painted and installing. After taking it to a couple places I was told it would take a lot of work to repair and make it fit properly, fit was terrible! I had already shelled out $400+$125 for boxing and shipping. At this point I decided to cut my losses and just return this defective part. Young's said they would pay the return shipping. When R & L shipping came to pick it up they had no shipping address, strange since Young's sent them over. I gave them the needed info. Young's returned only my original purchase price only. I was out the original shipping cost. Yesterday I found out they never paid the return shipping and now R&L was coming after me. So I just got screwed again! It ended up costing me over $285 to order a defective part spend time having it looked at and then shipping the defective part back. I will never purchase anything from Young's F-Body again!! They don't stand behind their products!!! They are a completely unreputable company!

Re: WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

I purchased the spoiler last may 2011, returned in last june. Just got hammered with the return shipping thursday. I emailed them last year trying to get my original shipping back. As I felt they shipped me a defective part, why should I have to pay for their lack of quality. They refused then. R&L sent them more than one notice in refrence to the return shipping they never responded. When I contacted r&l to square up with them they offered to try again to get youngs to pay. They again refused.

If you paid with a credit card dispute the charge.

Dispute, e-mail, call, write- dispute,e-mail,call,write. over and over and over, that's how I do it. Let them know you are not going away.

Re: WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

I tried disputing the charge with discover. To no avail they couldn't do anything. Yes I should have checked then out better. I certainly learned a expensive lesson. I know the rear spoiler I ordered was cracked before it was even sent. I totally believe they just passed poor quality down to me hoping I would have excepted it and had out repaired. Over the phone they seemed willing to help with repairs after a few quotes out was going to cost twice what I paid for it originally. At that point I called and told them I wanted to return it. I did get my original purchase price back less the $125. Shopping and now they got me for the return shopping also. They describe the rear spoiler as better than the original and won't crack our warp. Yea right! Glade to hear others r having good experiences with other parts suppliers.

Re: WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

That sucks dude. I have always found that the credit card companies usually lean in favor of the consumer. I have used that tactic plenty of times and it has always worked out in my favor. If you are out the cash I would at least go on as many F body websites as possible and spread the word. Nobody wants to deal with a bad vendor. Try to find the site where the vendor likes to post. You will see how fast they jump out of the woodwork to defend their honor and possibly make the situation right. I have seen it here plenty of times.
Good luck.

Re: WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

UPDATE: I think these guys recently closed shop. I ordered some rare interior parts from them about a month ago with no issues. Just tried an internet seach and the site was unavail... I found an old voice message from them and called it back: it's now a fencing company or something using the number. Glad I didn't get burnt by these guys like several others have.

Re: WARNING!!! My experiance with "Young's F-Body" BAD!!

If you go to their website it says "Account Disabled" from their provider. If you do a search for "Youngs Fbody" The first 3-4 results are how horrible they are. Many from here.

Agreed, they are done, unfortunately it looks like they messed over a lot of people on their way out.
