I wanted to take a few minutes to share my excellent experience with HRE Wheels.

Yes, HRE Wheels are expensive, but after how they treated me in a tough situation, the price is totally worth it. I know I will get taken care of for life.

I have an '87 Camaro. I have been in the market for wheels since last July. I originally placed an order with Boyd for a set of PT-01's. After working with them and my dealer for several months, Boyd went out of business. The Boyd's were already at the higher end of my budget. But the longer these things take, the higher the budget gets, I'm sure you are familiar with that sensation. My next try was with ISS Forged for a set of FM-8 wheels. I worked with ISS for many months trying to get the fitment nailed down. I am an engineer by trade and I know what I want. ISS seemed to lack technical skills and I could never get a straight answer on measurements. I finally had to let them go. At this point I started looking even higher budget, D2 Forged, etc.. They were not willing to do any fitment or engineering on the wheels until they had a 50% deposit. That was not going to fly with me. At this point I felt doomed to never order custom wheels.

Then I found the HRE 560R design at a somewhat more affordable cost than their other lines. These were still way over budget but I figured I would at least initiate contact and see where things went. So I called and talked to Tito. Wow, what a difference from all the other companies I have dealt with. Tito was knowledgeable, fast, and willing to work a fitment before an order was placed. Tito and I worked a great fitment for a few weeks, this was around the Christmas holiday. HRE's fitment paper work package is a huge advantage over the competition. They have you take a bunch of measurements of your wheel wells, brakes, etc.. The other companies I dealt with were not organized in any way. HRE always responds to my emails very quickly and always has the information I need. I finally got my order in for the 560R's. During the build process, HRE provided me with pictures of the wheels at various stages of production. I really appreciate the pictures, they tell a story.

Long story short my wheel dealer, PTS, became unresponsive after the order was placed. I had paid PTS the full amount for wheels and tires up front. PTS told me they had paid HRE 100% up front. I later found out they only gave you guys a deposit. When the wheels were ready to ship, Perry did not pay the remaining balance. I initiated disputes with PayPal and my credit card company. Initially PayPal was unable to recover the funds and it looked like I wasn't getting my money back. HRE made sure to keep me calm and told me we would work out something. As it turns out HRE was willing to ship the wheels even with just the initial deposit from PTS. I thought that was shocking. I have purchased tons of aftermarket parts from tons of companies and never received customer service like this. The day after the wheels shipped, I was able to recover much of the money paid to PTS. I contacted HRE to ask them how I could pay them the remainder of the money owed from PTS.

In short HRE told me we were good and no additional payment was necessary. And he apologized for how painful the process has been. For HRE to treat me this way is absolutely stunning. I am sure the experience was painful for them as well. HRE took responsibility for their dealer network. That is above and beyond any expectations I would ever have. And to think I am just a guy with an old Camaro buying one set of their cheapest wheels. I am sure Tito and HRE engineers had many hours working the fitment. This was not an off the shelf build.

It is challenging for me to describe how impressed I am with HRE's customer service. They have been without a doubt the best company I have ever worked with, regardless of industry. Many of my friends, family, and co-workers and lots of thirdgen members have been involved in my car progress and have shared in my 8 month quest for wheels. They have all seen the way the HRE team treated me. I am not sure how many of them will ever be in the market for forged wheels, but many have told me they will come to HRE first based solely on my experience. I will as well.

So in short I can highly recommend HRE if you guys are ever in the market for forged wheels. I know they will take care of you. I worked with Tito and can highly recommend him as well.

HRE is a great company and their products, customer service, everything about them is top-notch. I was fortunate enough to have them sponsor one of my cars for SEMA a few years ago. I am actually considering buying a set of wheels for my 1989 GTA. The price of their wheels are a premium but you are not just buying the product, you are being taken care of from start to finish and beyond. I have bent 2 of the wheels on the vette and they replaced the barrels at no charge. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best quality wheels. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I actually got two tires mounted last Friday and did a quick test fit on the front. The car is in 1000 pieces so it will be a while until it is sitting on the ground. See my wheel thread for more info and pictures.

I did read it shortly after my post here. Great job on the research and big ups to HRE for good quality customer service. Congrats!! That is gonna look bananas when its back ok the ground
