Thirdgen Ranch

Hey guys, I am about to go look at a 350 engine from the Thirdgen Ranch. The motor has 74k on it, and it comes with harness and ecm. Now he says it runs great. Can I believe him???? And if so will he be willing to do a 50/50 thing. I mean 50/50 as in a pay half when I get it and another half when I put it in and it find out if it does run good. I'm not looking to stiff anyone just don't what to get shafted.

You pay for it - he ships it... But if it's a lemon he'll make it right! They're a sponsor of this site and are straight shooters... You can't go wrong w/ them - if they say it's a solid runner then it is!

I live about a 2 hours away so I would pick it up. But I guess my question is can I trust them that the engine doesn't have a knock or something else wrong with it??

Notice that I made the purchase on the 8th of Feb. The order was confirmed on the 9th. Problem is that there is no activity in my Paypal account. I emailed Thirdgenranch on the 11th to verify if there was any action to deduct from my account, but Im still waiting for a reply.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

I havent bought anything from thirdgen ranch yet, but he did reply in a post of mine about needing an guage cluster for my 89 bird, so i pmed him, he got back to me said he still had some 120's and 140's, then I asked more questions about it, like how to buy one since he didnt have any listed on his site, then waited another week for a response, then pmed him again asking the same questions, it also involved asking about a speaker grill, he responded a couple days later saying he might have a speaker grill, but still never answered my question about buying the cluster, so I asked again, and never heard back from him still about either items. I know alot of people say great things about thirdgen ranch, and I'd like the chance to say good things too, but unfortunatly I dont think he wants to sell me anything.

Sucks dont it? I'm still waiting for a reply. To top it off, he has an advertisement spot here in the forum. Not replying or committing to a potential buyer is not good business.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

well I got a reply today, with full instructions on how to get the grill, and cluster plus the price and paypal addy, so maybe he was gone for a bit, or just didnt get pm's. it's possible, I know I had a little trouble with pm's for about a week not long ago. Although now for the first time ever, I added money to my paypal so I could buy the parts today, and the money hasnt gone into it yet, just says "Processing" never had that before. Just my stupid luck i guess. Now he probably thinks I was screwing around with him about buying them. So if your reading this, yea I am buying them just might take a day or so to get that far, dont sell off all your clusters and pass side speaker grills for a couple days please

He is a busy guy sometimes, be patient, and as you saw you will get a reply. He has usually been pretty prompt in answering my e-mails, and I have had great experiences with purchases from him. I wouldn't be afraid to order form him again!

i recently bought a motor from him i drove 200 miles for the motor and when i got home and got it put in it had a knock, so i called him told him about it, he found another one, called me and i went back up and listened to this one run, got it put in and got 30 miles and it blew up, however he did refund my purchase price, but i was still out the $200 in gas that i spent on the 2 trips.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

He just replied too. He told me that the paypal was delayed which automatically canceled my order. So I used my $25 dollars else where. I still need that $7.00 piece but with a total of $22.00 (shipping included), heck no. A waste of money.

I didn't tell you Paypal was delayed. I told you that you must not have completed the Paypal process completely so the site automatically cancelled your order. Your order never came through our site and we didn't get a payment from you through Paypal. We're sorry you had problems ordering but we can't be held responsible for your order getting cancelled if you didn't complete the payment process.

Our shipping prices come directly from UPS so if there's nothing we can do about shipping prices. I don't know your ZIP code but we just shipped another one to California last week and our site gave them a shipping price of $12.15 for a total of $19.15.

I should also note than when you order through our site and choose to pay by Paypal our site clearly states, "Orders not funded are subject to cancellation.")

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

Same problem ever shop encounters, no matter how busy you are, you're expected to drop everything and take care of every customer inquiry instantly!!!!! My experience as a shop owner/operator is that the biggest whiners are usually the one's who want some piddly $10 item, and they want it yesterday!!!!

I think if a lot of these folks had any idea what it actually takes to manage and operate a shop on a full time basis they might learn to have a bit of patience and realize that there order or request is NOT the only one recieved today, and might not even be the most urgent!!!!!!

My condolances to all the other shop owners who are expected to bend over backwards and pull a rabbit out of their hat to accomodate every request or order they recieve!!!!!!

I appologize if you've taken my posting serious. I not blaming your company for canceling my order. My Paypal account is a verified account. It is also set up in a way that if there is insufficient funds, it'll automatically deduct from my bank account. Im just confused on how I got a confermation number with no withdraw from my paypal/bank. Also so Im not blaming you for the shipping, Im just saying that it's a lot of money for something rather large, but rather light in weight. I dont blame you for not replying back. After reading other members comments, Im sorry for being the bad customer. Anyone wanna take shots at me?

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

I recently had a private discussion with thirdgen ranch (Denny), and I will say that I retract any comments that may of had caused any anger to Denny. I appologize Denny. I hope you accept my appology. My point is, I was fustrated too. But after reading all the comments that Thirdgen Ranch owner is a very bizzy man, I fully understanded the situation. Please be patient. I'm waiting for a reply too. I need the fuse box cover and the ALDL port cover for under my dash. I already PM'd Thirdgen Ranch and I'm waiting for a reply. But, business is business and having patients is the name of the game.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

I wrote him an email the night after I ordered my radiator because I was leaving town and people in my area like stealing packages. I asked him if he can call ups and see if I can go pick the package up from the ups store.

I got a reply the very next morning telling me he'll call them first thing. He then replied back telling me I have to wait for it to come to san diego before I pick it up.

The bottom line is that he replied to me so quickly, he actually went out of his way to call ups for me, and he replied back let me know whats up. I think thats some pretty good service!!!!! Great guy he is

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

it took about a week for me to get replies, but when I did, i had the parts i needed in just over a day from ordering from him. Like people say he's a busy guy sometimes, and after thinking about it, right now is pretty much tax refund time and probably one of his busiest times of the year, its easy to go crazy with shopping from his site, because he has so much of the odds and end parts we cant get anywere and probably a ton of people asking "you got this?" and with him having to find out, and probably pull parts, i bet its quite time consuming. Also the instrument cluster i got from him for $20 is in extremely good condition, theres not a scuff or scratch on it anywere at all, so I'd definatly buy from him again, actually i just did like 10 minutes ago

I picked up a bunch of parts from him last week and saved $140 in shipping costs. I'll buy from him again.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

I bought a Powermirror Pack on 5/12/10 and Denny told me it got shipped on 5/17/10 and he gave me a Tracking #.

But the UPSP site show "No records avaible" for this Tracking number. And now we have 5/27/10. Is this Normal? I Called USPS customer service and they say there exist no package whit this Tracking Number and never was send.

By the way i live in Germany and thats the Package destination.

I already told that Denny and he said he will get in touch whit the postoffice and tell me more Monday but i still got no reply on my E-mails.
Its ok and i'm sure he will soon reply he always did.

But the reason why i'm so impatient is that my Mirror is broken and i use my Car as a daily driver.I use it everyday for Work. The Cops stoped me serverall times because of my Broken Mirror. Now i hope you understand why i need the Mirrors ASAP.

The best part is i have to go to State inspection next week and i wont pass it whit a broken mirror.

I know Denny is a good guy. He is very friendly and helpfull but he is also wery bussy sometimes it seems .

I beginn to wory because a Friend of mine said he also order a Pair of Mirrors 1-2years ago and it took 2 month to get them and i was shooked to hear this. Because i expected them to come in 1-2 weeks MAX.

I searched the Forums and a lot of people who ordered from Overseas had the same experience(2 month delevery).

So my question is have somebody else from Overseas had the same problem whit USPS? And does somebody know when is the best time when i can reach Denny by Phone? I try to call hime all the time but only mailbox is on.

Denny if you read this please write me a E-mail and tell me which time i can call you.

Don't take me wrong Denny i looking foward to make more bussiness whit you in the future for sure. You have the best prices and the best stuff why would i buy elsewhere? Just no USPS next time please Fed-Ex cost more but is way to go.Never took more then 2 day to get my Package from US to Germany. Thanks alot Denny Thirdgenranch rocks for sure!

A.M,
Don't worry too much. USPS tracking is not the best. I've had several packages that will say that they have no record of the package until well after the package has been delivered to me. Their tracking system is not always the most reliable (Not saying that its ALWAYS unreliable, but it is sometimes). I wouldn't worry too much. Being out of the states I can't really give you an idea of how long it should take to get it to you, but just a random guess I would say probably no more than 2 weeks. Hope you see it soon!

@FireChicken2.8

Thank you very much that realy make me feel better

So the traking sucks.....ok but i called USPS in USA and the partner of USPS in Germany (DHL) and both said there exist no package whit this tracking number. Maybe there was a typo in the Tracking #???

Anyways thanks for you kind words. And i hope too everything goes fine.

The Cops in Germany are realy anoying and stop you all the time. And even worse when you drive an American Car whit a brocken mirror

You know in Germany F-bodys have the Image of a Pimp/Hustler Car

Is this the same in the US?

Yup. I had a package sent to me and it never showed up online with the tracking number. The next day, someone knocked and there it was, my weatherpack connectors arrived.

Well Ive been waiting for about 1 months already for a reply for a quote. I need a driverside seat belt replacement. But now it's not that important because my IROC is parked. I need to redo the whole front suspension so Im not in much of a hurry. But I am waiting on a reply for the seatbelts. I hope everything works out for you man.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

Well the weather pack connectors where purchased from a California vendor (http://www.californiasalescompany.net/ phone (909)930-2800. I was just stating a point that even though it's on delivery with a tracking number, it doesnt always let you track the package. On the Fedex site, i put in the tracking number and it said there was no available info on the tracking number provided. A short time later, the door bell rang and sure enough, I received my package.

That happens allot with USPS, I hand the lady a package and she tosses it in the bin, a customer ask why the package isn't tracking and the next day it shows up and the traction info only says it was delivered, with no in between tracking info.

Its can be ubar annoying at times as folks think you can get a fake tracking number or something, which you can't and if I was gonna rip someone off, I wouldn't of printed out a $10 pre paid shipping label, id keep it all.

Re: Thirdgen Ranch

I hope you don't get it wrong.

I trust Denny he has a weryyyy good reputation.

The reason why i'm asking why the tracking # is not working is that i was worried that USPS lost somehow the Package thats all.

I have absolutely no doubdt that Denny send the Package. That was never a question.

I'm happy to hear that the problem is USPS tracking SUCKS and not that my package is lost so i have nothing to worry about.

I keep you updated when i recive the package

Thanks
