Thumbs up for Skulte

Ordered an aftermarket crossmember from them. Quick delivery and good customer support. They even called me to confirm I was ordering the right part. I will definitely do business with them in the future.

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

Wish I had 'quick delivery'
Been over 1 month and it's not even shipped yet.
Was told twice now two different dates they would have the parts and both times those dates came and went.
Telling the customer something and not doing it in the time you say=not cool.
So here my car sits on jackstands, another weekend wasted. Which puts the exhaust a couple weekends behind since it can't be done till the crossmember is in place.

I think it might be beneficial if you know your supply is running low and you know there is demand for said part, you get/make some more ahead of time to have stock on hand.

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

Aaron - I apologize for your delay, and especially for missing the ship dates. We've been incredibly busy these last two months, and have sold out new batches before they had even been powdercoated. I was able to pick up your crossmember from powdercoating today (the rest of the batch will be ready in a week). Your crossmember was shipped out FedEx Overnight Priority for no extra charge, so you should receive it tomorrow morning.

It's my fault for not keeping enough inventory in stock, but I hadn't anticipated the rush. I'm now keeping twice as much on hand so this won't happen again.

Im in the same boat. Been waiting on my X-member since January 26th, here it is April 8th and still nothing. My swap project has just been sitting with 0 progress. I have bought other parts from Skulte, and the quality and work was 100% A+ top notch. Just wish my x-member would show up already so i can get this car to the exhaust shop and off to paint.

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

Guys,

I apologize for the delay. I've been trying to get an hour of work every night into them, but with the normal 11hr/day work schedule, it unfortunately doesn't leave as much time as I'd prefer to fab xmems (and my Camaro will be sitting until all the xmems have been completed).

This current batch is catching up on backorders, and has one left that hasn't been spoken for yet. I've got all the side pieces milled, bent, trimmed, and the center pieces milled for the angles, but not yet for the ends. After that, it's trim, bend, and TIG welding everything together. I hope to get the center pieces completed on Saturday, and begin welding on the rest of the batch Sunday. I do have two completely welded that could be shipped un-powdercoated. As a rule, I don't charge anyone until the xmems are ready to be shipped, and have no problem lending a std xmem to get a car running temporarily until the LT's arrive. In any case, I should wolf down dinner, get to sleep, and wake up early to get more progress done instead of emailing! I also apologize to those who've left voicemails - I've been ignoring them consciously to spend time fabricating instead.

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

I'll chime in on this, I ordered some Wheel adapters for my C5 wagon wheels years ago, and he contacted me and set me straight on my order at the time. They have held up well, and i've pointed people in his direction ever since.

Andris, you need to find a way to fabricate those functional hood louvers you've got out of some metal.. i'd be all over that !

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

I've been trying to order some adapters from skulte for a couple of days now, the online cart function won't allow me to order. it says "Products marked with *** dont exist in desired quantity in our stock. Please alter the quantity of products marked with (***), Thank you" and it won't let me continue to pay or anything, just sends me back to the same page.

I've tried calling a couple of times, and sent an email but didn't get an answer, i don't mind if he is a little behind, i just want to pay and be put in line so i can get the adapters when he has them in stock.

Re: Thumbs up for Skulte

Just an update for you all - I finished the xmems last night, and was able to get our powdercoating place to rush them through so they'll be ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon. I won't be able to make the FedEx 6pm cut-off in time after the xmems are picked up and packaged, but they will go out on Monday (or Saturday if USPS Overnight). I've put everything else on hold (including returning about 90 voicemails and about the same for emails), which I plan on getting through this weekend.

I had a great opportunity to return to my previous employer back in November, and there just hasn't been enough time in the day to dedicate to both to my day job, Skulte Performance Designs, and my family. As a result, I've decided to scale back SPD this month, and get a little bit of sanity back!

(what's the point of an f-body in the garage if you haven't had time to work on it for 6 months!)

The reason you see the *** asterisks and the shopping cart not allowing to add the items is that those adapters aren't in stock. I haven't decided whether to continue doing adapters, since much of the time dedicated to SPD was helping customers with adapter questions as well as coordinating order details with our machine shop. If you've written in your email what adapters you need, I plan on making at least one more run of adapters, and will get them machined. I'll write back to everyone this weekend, and will try to get through all 90 voicemails. Don't worry - I haven't just been ignoring your email/voicemail. It's been everyone until these LT xmems were completed last night.
