My Jegster Subframe Connector Review
I figured I never really take the time to write reviews. But Subframe connectors seem to be a question that pops up all the time on fitment/quality etc.
Product : Jegster 82-92 F-body Subframe Connectors
Car : 1987 Camaro Z28 hardtop
Why I went with jegster? The price is hard to beat, and I was planning on building my own. I figured after material $70ish It wasn’t really worth it since they still wouldn’t have powder coat. Then all the added time to lay them out. I also already have some steel tubing for other project I’m building on the car. So I plan on adding other supports that tie into the front subframe/trans area after my exhaust is finished
Also my last car had Hotchkis and I didn’t care for the design of the driver’s side and how low they were on the car.
What came in the box? Both subframe connectors powder coated black (obviously) and all the Bolts to install if you want to bolt them in.
Quality? The fit/finish on them were great. The bolt holes appear to be flame cut or something. Not perfect round holes, but you are using them as guides when you drill anyways so no biggy. Powder coat was clean etc
Fitment? The Fitment on them were great. I bolted on the rears first and after I had them nice and tight I swung them up into the floor. The driver’s side fit perfect no issues. The passenger side I had to take a dead blow hammer and massage the floor pan where it dips down a slight bit. Nothing noticeable.
Install time? Approx 1.5 hours by myself and I welded them in after bolting them in. (add approx an extra hour since I already had the carpet lifted on the driver’s side, the exhaust was mostly off and the rear control arm bolts were in loose and the car was already on stands (under the a-arms/rear end)
Recommend? Definitely would recommend. The nice thing about them being bolt in is, if you are going to weld them, if you bolt them in first they pull in tight to the floor and then you don’t have to worry about welding/filling gaps. Also made the install by myself simple. I probably wouldn’t recommend ONLY welding them in as the front doesn’t have a ton of area to weld or multiple weld points etc.
That about sums it up. I will try to get some pics tonight while I’m working on my exhaust. I hope this will help for other members looking.

Re: My Jegster Subframe Connector Review
I have not driven the car and dont plan to for at least 4 months. I picked this car up completely bone stock and so far have done, full suspension Koni/weight jacks. LCA's Panhard, TQ Arm, 17" ZR1's and C5 brakes up front so i wont really be able to say/ When my dad did his he said it was amazing the difference. I did it right away since I didnt want my low mile shell twisting when I add the Turbo LSx powerplant in.

I have these on my car. As the OP stated, very easy to install alone and very good fit. I haven't welded them in yet, but I rarely drive my car on the street. I also have an 8 point roll bar so the chassis is pretty stiff. Spohn Tubular K-member and coilover front suspension too. Car leaves hard and straight on transbrake.

I was contemplating this purchase, also. Thanks for the review- and consider them purchased! I have 3 third gens currently, both V8s are cracking at the rooftop at the rear of both door windows... The V6 is not. Both V8s will get them first!

Re: My Jegster Subframe Connector Review
i put a set on a few years ago. same thing, good price, fit, instructions, quality, etc. i also welded mine in after bolting them in. for some extra insurance i bought some of the jegs rollbar gussets and added a few between the SFC's and the floor. i have a t-top car and it used to squeak going up un-even driveways, etc. after the install it was a major difference. no more noise and the car feels solid.

Re: My Jegster Subframe Connector Review
I figured since I have been driving the car for around a month now I will give an update.
Car handles great. No squeaks or anything. All and all feels solid. Doors seem to shut better also.

Those look really close to the old south side machine connectors but are a bit shorter in the front than the SSM connectors are.
