Scorpion Narrow Body Self Aligning rocker arms
I first want to say that I do not work for or have any affiliation to Scorpion Racing Products. I recently purchased a set of the narrow body self aligning roller rockers for my 906 vortec heads. I installed them reusing the cromemoly push rods i had with the previous set which isn't highly recommended. After about 500 miles I heard a lifter tap and opened the valve cover to find one end of the rocker arm worn off on the number 6 intake valve. I removed the push rod and rocker arm for inspection only to see what looked like damage to the receiving cup of the rocker arm. I sent an e-mail to Scorpion and within minutes received a e-mail back from their product support team. I sent in a photo of my concerns and their response was to immediately send me a replacement rocker arm free of charge! No questions were asked or blame passed to where it belonged. I was fully prepared to pay for a replacement however these guys offered to replace it. I purchased a new set of cromemoly push rods and waited a few days for the replacement. Bolted it all up and I'm good to go.
For those of you that are saying must be another issue....coil bind etc... I have measured the the actual lift at the cam, the coil bind, the installed spring height, the heads have been milled for seal to retainer clearance etc.... the push rod holes have been enlarged to fit 1.6 ratio etc....
I learned two things.... never reuse push rods and always purchase Scorpion Rocker Arms for your car....They obviously stand behind their product even when the product wasn't at fault..... I'm very pleased with the product.....

Wow, I've been re-using pushrods since when I was a teenager in the 80's, never had a problem due to the fact the pushrods were used. And that includes triple springs and big roller cams with a variety of different rocker types and brands.
I suspect you may have had a defective cup on the rocker.
That being said, Scorpoins response to the problem is outstanding, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

One thing I should add is I find them very quiet. I had a set of PRW 1.52 sportsman stamped steel with roller tip and these Scorpions are much quieter.

I put a set of the Scorpion Narrow Body Self Aligning rocker arms 1.6. I used the old push rods and had no problems. I do have a pair of alum valve covers that I had to do a little grinding to so the rockers would not rub.

To be fair to the push rods I had re-used the ones on at least 4 sets of rockers....I think that with every change it forced the hardened tip to have to "mate" with the cup on the rocker. In the process the hardening eventually wore through. You can probably get away with once or twice but not four times, IMHO.
Personally,.....I hope my hardened tip doesn't wear through? I have been with way more than 4 sets of rockers.....lol
