BRAKE BLEEDER

bled my brakes today after changing all rubber hoses and doing o/h on rear brakes . I had access to a Mityvac model mv6830 brake bleeder . I must say I have to give it 2 . we (my nephew & i) got one without instruction booklet . last night i pulled instructions off the internet . got to the shop this morning , my nephew told me all set to go . " ive got the pot full ready to go " , i laughed . i asked does the name MITYVAC mean anything . ( the pot collects dirty fluid you vacuum out ) . anyway i cleaned master cylinder , drained & flushed system . i think it's the first time it's been done on my car (a 91 Camaro) . as with any special tool follow instructions & you will be happy . i am .

I'd suggest wiping the plastic cup with a rag or paper towel to get out all the brake fluid. I have a different version of hand-operated MightyVac. I found the plastic cup started to cloud up from exposure to the brake fluid.

hey lon , I know the type you mention . this is much larger , operates from shop air press. , pot holds almost 2 qts. . a good cleaning after use is just good practice for any tools . good luck .

Ever heard of a reverse bleed? google it. It lets you bleed without pumping your brake pedal. It's cool.
