9 Bolt pinion Nut from Randy's Ring and Pinion

Not all that familiar with the options out there, just know that I will never buy a pinion nut from Randy's Ring and Pinion again.
I rounded this nut off completely using the CORRECT size socket. Now, the socket was a 12 point, maybe my fault there however I have used 12 points on plenty of pinion nuts and never had this happen. LUCKILY i was able to pound a slightly smaller metric socket with a sledge hammer on it and get it off. Used a 3.70 pinion to hold the nut while i used a punch and got the socket off the nut.

Sorry, no before pics.

stick with the 6 point socket, as I'm sure you know those nuts are tight.
