Hurst Shifter

I just put in a Hurst Billet-plus shifter. I want to use leather **** from the stock shifter. Can this be done? The shifter shaft is 3/8" in diameter, while the **** is 5/8". Does anyone make an insert for this application? Hurst-Mr Gasket does not.

I did the Mcgyver modification to the the shifter.

i was thinking the shifter was 7/16 or 1/2 but what ever it is any one with a lathe could make you a insert if the hole is bigger in the handle than the shifter shaft. if it's the other way make a plug for the **** and redrill and tap it. shouldn't be too hard to do.

I ended up cutting the tip of the stock shaft off and threading for the Hurst shaft.

If you're not satisfied with your purchase (However, I understand the Hurst is quite nice, you might consider the B&M Ripper, which accomodates both the stock leather **** and boot. Love mine.

Like my Hurst Billet Plus, but I ended up buying a B&M small leather **** and it was a perfect fit.
